Hi, yes I've been specifically avoiding this site because I don't want to get hooked on another forum and end up burning hours and hours on here :wink: It was easy to wean myself off V is for Voltage thanks to the site going belly up.
Anyway, IIRC I think my nicads have been charged 3 or 4 at the most times. I tried it out on a few easy rides and they performed ok so I fitted them into the battery box (I was putting this off because I had to cut a hole in the box for the charging plug and this is an irreversable modification). But trying to suck any real current from them like on a decent hill, they are pathetic except straight off the charger (even then they're nothing to write home about).
I will run them flat tonight and give Knoxie's suggestions a go and see if that helps. The controller with a lower low voltage cutoff should be here next week so I will try them again then. I hope it's nothing I'm doing, I soldered them to the wires inside my battery box so I could easily go back to my SLA if I had to, but those same wires when soldered to my SLA were good for 20A continuous this morning so I don't think that could be it.
