All right! If only I had the dough for this! Might make an interesting conversion. Apparently it will be available without the tacky bomber pilot paint
But that may be part of the charm.

A couple of different kit versions have been available over here for a few years now. They'd probably be a better basis for an EV version. Take a look at these for some examples of trike kits: http://www.spitfireart.com/veetwintrikes.html

This is the one I'd like to build as an EV, with a smooth nose cone: http://www.blackjackzero.com/mainindex.htm

I've always had a liking for reverse trikes, those morgans look pretty cool, the blackjack too, love the styling. This would be my choice for an electric conversion:

You'd have to do something to improve drag though, exoskeletons and exposed wheels would most likely need to be covered in some way, but the weight including a yamaha R1 motor is only 350kg! Would be great for around town. If I lived in the UK with your high fuel prices and big kit car market I'd probably be working on one right now.

Mills Extreme Vehicles already make a small e-trike, but personally I think it's not likely to appeal to a lot of people, as it's a bit basic: http://mevltd.co.uk/etrike.htm

Years ago I built a four wheel version of a popular trike kit over here, the Hudson. Unfortunately Hudson folded years ago and the kits disappeared, but they made a neat single seater, and a two seat tandem reverse trike, either of which would make great EV conversions. Jozzer has one and is planning to build an EV with it, there's a photo of his as his avatar. The four wheel single seater version that I built looks very similar at the front; here's a photo of mine (with another one of my old "toys" parked behind it):

That's an awesome little car, not to mention the plane behind it. We might have the best weather, and cricket team it seems in south africa, but you seem to have the best toys on your island!

Thanks for the kind words about the car. It was fun, as it weighed just 510kg and had about 90hp on tap, so had a reasonably good power to weight ratio for a car. I believe that the three wheel versions are even more fun, as they are around 20 to 30kg lighter. I keep looking around for a second hand Hudson Free Spirit, the single seat trike, but they don't often seem to come up for sale. The two seat version, the Kindred Spirit, was far more popular over here, too, which means that there were less Free Spirits produced in the first place. Here's a photo I found on Flickr of the two seat version, the Kindred Spirit, the single seat Free Spirit was just a bit shorter, but otherwise identical:
