Hi, I am new to this forum and hope to get some ideas on motors and batteries for my project, I am currently running a 1200 watt cheepo motor on 48 volts with an alltrax 300 amp controller ( programed for 150 amps), the batteries are 12 volt 12 AH chineese and have not lasted very long before losing performance.
I am hoping to find a 36 volt motor in the 3000 watt range at around 3600 RPM but cant find anything in the size range I need, the "Perm" 80 would work but the RPM's are too high which would require a jackshaft to gear it down. size limit is 6 inch diameter X 7" long.
The 4 batteries are fitted 3 in a box and one under the seat with the controller under the seat as well, I would like to lose one battery, keep or improve present performance and hopefully increase capacity ( perhaps 18 AH SLA or AGM 's ).
I simply cant afford Li-po's , This project has been very satisfying and I am happy with the results but its time to upgrade.
Any Ideas on motor or battery type and brand would be appreciated. follow the link below to take a look at my bike at an earlier stage ( pre alltrax and 48 volts).
