Hello, I have decided the cargo trike i am building will need a front hub motor. But I dont know anything about motors. I have checked out a few hub motors and I only seem to see motors for 36 spoke wheels, does any one know companies that make motors for 48 spokes? or will i have to make it myself? thanks
this is a 20 inch wheel.

Just get the size wheel you need but with a hub motor already installed, Im guessing it dont have to be a 48 spoked wheel.

thanks for responding, but yes, i need the 48 spoke wheel. its a cargo trike. also, i want to powdercoat the rims and use chrome spokes, so i will need to build the wheel regardless.

Justin at ebikes.ca has listed some 144 spoke hole hubs as an experiment.
They're the geared E-Zee motors in two versions. One for 26" (standard) or the 20" (fast) wheels.

Analyse your weight distribution before deciding you must have 48 spokes.
Thirty six 13 ga. spokes are short with a hub motor so should be stout enough for handling the load and delivering the power.
Twenty inch wheels are stronger laterally than 26" wheels.

just what i needed.thank you!
