Hey guys, I'm new here, and interested on developing electric bikes.I got 4 Hub motors, 3 of them works perfectly fine, but 1 that i recently got have an issue. I bought this in China, with an unknown specification. Also IT ONLY ROTATES 1 WAY. Even after powering it on with the controller, I still can't get it to rotate both ways. I assumed it has an electric brake that needs to be trigger in order to unlock the motor to rotate the other way.... It has regular connections, 3 phase cable, and hall sensor cable(5 points). Also one side of the motor seems to be fatter, and I'm guessing it's an electric brake? I need help on this. Thanks!

Perhaps change two of the motor phase cable positions (swap them). But of course, you must re-arrange the hall sensors to change direction too...
I did, it's actually my configuration for now, but even when i stop the motor, it still refuses to rotate the other way. This is a problem later on, as i wont be able to reverse, only keep going forward....

This is the picture of the motor btw

It looks like a geared motor with an internal clutch.. it should be a lot harder to spin by hand on direction compared to the other.. and if you make the motor actually change direction, its just going to be spinning inside the shell, but not turning the clutch plate.

Is this a v1,2,3, or 4 can you identify from the outside? And i have tried harder to move the motor backwards, and it moves. But it still doesn't move with the electric on....

So one way you can spin it by hand, the other way not at all? Or the other way it's just harder to spin?

I have tested it, and it actually does spin bi-directional. The case is:
Turn Off: can turn both direction physically by hand, but 1 direction a little harder cause of the planetary gears.
Turn on: 1 direction spins normally by throttle, but the other one can't be forced to rotate oppositely....
Conclusion: When i give power to the motor, it makes it un-rotate able towards the opposite direction, while giving no power allows me to rotate it. Somehow the power gives like a force to stop or brake the motor to go on 2 directions, and make it only capable of going 1 direction...
