Motorcycle Alarm with Proximity Sensor $80 (First Month)

Ha ha, I like it. Easily hackable. Kinda large though. Strange enough to freak people out. I doubt anyone would mess with your ebike li-ghtcycle. Way too unconventional. They would probably worry that it might even shock them. A voice with "Danger - shock hazard" would be very convincing

Do you think if i locked up my bike at a movie theater and went and watched a movie, the signal would pick up all the way inside? It warns you right when someone moves the bike? or merely when the proximity sensor goes off?

Well, that really depends, I don't remember the exact range listed, but what ever they list I would cut that in half since there is going to be considerable interference especially in town.

If you were going to a older single or double screen theater, I would guess yes, but if your going to a large multi-plex with tons of screens, I would think unless you're lucky enough to be in the closest one to the bike, probably not.

They claim a range of 1500 ft, or just over 1/4 mile, that seems pretty generous, I would think that only happens in perfect conditions with line of sight, meaning no real objects between the alarm and the pager.

I'll have to try going into the basement of the church tomorrow and see how far away I can get from it in the building and see how well it still communicates with the pager.

Well, I tested it out today from inside the church, and the remote had no problem with getting a signal to the bike from about 200+ feet through the concrete basement, so I would say it's probably a little better than I thought for range, but personally I would still think that keeping it as close as possible to the entrance where you have the bike and to you inside a building as possible.

That's great to hear! I may soon be picking one up :) thanks for the reporting
