Obviously didn't use "power-assist" ebike.

That guy has some balls, my hat's off to him. Looks like he did what he needed to do perfectly, but the chute needed another hundred feet of time to open.

Yeah, a huge pair. There definitely is not much planning done for the jump. I mean the guy lands straight on a phone pole, if you watch closely. Loose phone wires hang here and there after the jump. That propably slowed him down and saved him though. Luckily avoided the narrow top of the pole.
A humanist might ask what kind of person builds a ramp that heads straight on a phone pole? :)

There's a distinction between bravery and stupidity and not checking release and opening time for the 'chute surely qualifies him for the latter...

Thought it was beautiful, and he lived... bet he didnt attempt that at the same spot again, was a long way down.i love those b&w films.

Every time I see those old films, I think, "Damn! The meth must have been strong back then!", and it's not just the speed of the film.

I have thought about mounting a snowmobile parachute to my offroad trike though. If it didn't float me leisurely to the ground after accidentally careening off a cliff or towards a tree, at least it would slow me down!
