Motorcycle wheels/tires on NEV/Regular car

Does anyone know if the US DOT has restrictions against using motorcycle tires and wheels on an NEV, or regular speed vehicle?

i think it must be a 2-3 wheel car less than 1500 lbs curb weight. but i think i have seen small cars with cycle whees or drag wheels

You'd want to be sure the spokes were strong enough to handle lateral loads during cornering. Normally a motorcycle does not have much lateral load.

i can get motorcycle wheels without spokes, more like really skinny car rims...but i wouldnt be sure if they were designed for lateral load.

looking through the DOT guidelines, man there's alot of stuff to go through.

Not sure what you are wanting, but if you want a car with tiny wheels, the ford festiva had 12" tires. I can't imagine anything lighter.
