I have motorized 2 willys....1st a 36v 750w for myself. 2nd a 36v 500w for my wife. They are a blast to ride and the 20inch wheels allow for all kinds of bmx stuff. I weagh 205 and it takes me right up the steep hills of sharpsburg md.The willy has 100mm drop outs front and rear. I got front wheel kits and put the on the rear. The 750 is from leafbike...The 500 is from uumotors....I like uumotor the best because they are easy to deal with and communicate with. They are also alot cheaper...I am so imprest with their 500 that I ordered another 750 kit from them.It is a special order due to my wheel size..Their guy Tony said no problem just give us few days.....Also 100 bucks less than leafbike! If you order anything other than a kit from leafbike they are gonna send you whatever THEY want too. That has been my expereince ....My 750 from leaf has a slight wobble because the wheel isn't round. They won't replace it. I paid for another wheel. Whatever they sent was in a 10 inch box. I refused delivery because a 20in wheel won't fit in a 10in box. No refund...Hopefully I will be as happy with the 750 uumotors as I am with their 500.
The willy is a great scooter to motorize...yes they offer the Zumaround...250w is ok and all flatlanders need. Here in western md we need som torque! Willy has a very strong molochrome steel frame. They just made it even beefier!
I ride all over sharpsburg and the Antietam Battlefield National Park and now wifey can ride with me!
So STOKE OUT a WILLY!!!!!! it's a wild ride standing 5inchs off the ground

You can upload your image to somewhere like http://imgur.com/ and then you use bb code to embed in your comment like so:

FYI (I disabled BBCode on my reply so you could see the actual code...keep BBCode enabled so the image shows up instead)

I like standups. They're kinda cool to strip all the bicycle gears, chain and shit away and reduce the electric drive to it's purest form.

Have had a couple Willys -

And a City too -

36-48V 1000W DD systems. I wanna do a Q128 geared hub in 20" wheel for Willy. Shave off 9-10lbs and slightly better freewheeling...

Yes, while you do stand 5-6" off the pavement, you should always be mindful and aware of only 2-3" clearance under the frame to pavement. It doesn't take much of a pothole and/or speed bump to stick that downtube and have you performing a stunt.

As far as pics are concerned you can upload directly to ES but they can't be much larger file size than 100kb and the image size needs to be around 640x480 to display in posts. Otherwise, there'll just be a link to open if the image size is too large.

See the Adding Pictures link near the top of every forum in the Global Announcements/stickies.

My wife and I ride them all over the Antietam Battlefield National Park and the Keedysville Sharpsburg area..I'ts alot of fun..I ride to the local Tavern and the Harley biker's kinda freak....I park right beside'm along the curb for contrast!

Got stopped by the state police on the square Sharpsburg yesterday. He thought he was pulling over some 15 or 16 year old kid not some far out 55 year old man! So the out come of this incounter is this.....This is official from the state police and the Maryland DMV...These scooters do not qualify as a vehicle under any discripion by law and there for can not be concidered motor vehicles !!! I can keep riden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you were an 16yo, do you think he would have said the same? Or maybe <16yo is illegal on motorized version (I think it is for bikes here) and he was just looking for underagers?

He said it was a unregistered motor vehicle. He was proven wrong by his felow officers and the DMV. Yes he wanted a kid to yell at. lol...what a disapointment I must have been...
