Got my e-scooter today, a mach1 1000w 48v. Listed topspeed of this scooter is 43km/h. Mine did bearly 30km/h and I am not super heavy, 80kg. Range was 12km and i got Panasonic 16ah fully charged. Listed range 35km.

What could be the problem? Please help me!

No idea really and just a guess but maybe you have the hill climbing gear installed?

I have not changed the gears so it is original, should run at about 43km/h. Can it be a battery that is dead? Acceleration is not freaky fast either compared to what I have seen on youtube.

I messured the battery pack to 52.2v when fully charged. Could I leave out that something may be wrong with the battery? What else could it be?

I also have a Mach1 48V scooter.
It came with the "hill" gearing installed as standard and the "normal" gearing separate with it. I found that the tire pressure and the chain tension make a big difference in top speed (35km/h hot of the charger) and range (20-30km). The chain tension was set too tight as it came and I had to loosen it. The tire pressure should be above 3 bar. The first 200 km (I have almost 950km on it now) the chain stretch is significant so keep adjusting it to the right tension. It also seems the battery needs a few charges and discharges to get to the full capacity. I get about 20 km going flat out as much as I can and almost 30km when riding together with my wife when she is riding her bicycle (slow acceleration and 15km/h on average).

It took me a lot of hours to get it a bit safer to ride as the brakes weren't positioned correctly, the chain wheels weren't in line and it needed extra welding where the seat tube is inserted  And to make it more torsionally rigid I made a top plate to cover the battery compartment so the open box construction is closed.

Ride safe and enjoy!

A Youtube "unboxing" video shows the racing gear and chain to be packaged separately so the hill climbing gear is probably installed by default.

I dont know about the racing gear or hillclimbing gear is on, all I know is that it is nowhere near the topspeed listed and the acceleration is quite bad.

But I think I found the problem.. poor soldering! Found THREE lose wires that was not connected. One was suposed to go into the motor controller and the other two to the rearlight-cable (my rearlight has been dead aswell). Took a picture and send it to mach1 support and I hope they will answer, they have not replyed my emails yet and I wrote to them two days ago..

This one wire (orange/red) that should go to the motor controller could be the problem with my speed, am I right?

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Without seeing something noone can make a reasonable guess what that wire is for. That one looks like one someone on that modifed electric scooters tore down for parts, I remember a picture of the controller and the red wire he thought there was a problem with, so again, just a guess.

That's one mighty looking scoot. Too bad they don't have a service manual online. I can't even find a website for them.

Forgot to mention but I take it you are aware of the button on the handle bar that lowers the amperage? It doesn't affect the top speed much but it sure slows down the acceleration.
