My application to be part of the M.E.N.S club( 2kW Big MAC )

Okay, looks like i am getting the two motors today.
But due to personal issues, i won't be able to test them for a month.

I think it is bogus to leave you all on a cliffhanger, so... is there anyone in the USA who is able to do some tests on one of these motors, IE measure the RPM at different voltages, hook it up to a bike, see what it can handle, etc?

If so, i can sell it to you at cost.

Nep, how much would it cost to send one to me in the uk? if it is not to extortionate i would be interested in having one to test.

The eagle has landed.

Tench, would probably cost half of what i paid per motor ( plus china shipping ) or more!

If this motor works out, you would be able to get one shipped direct to you from China at a good rate :)

Anyway looks like it has standard colored phases ( blue, yellow, green ) and a hall sensor connector just like what comes on our bikes, but the colors on the hall sensors are very different so i'm a little nervosa about firing it up and sending voltage to the halls the wrong way. Gonna bug cell man first, haha. :)

Allright, so i ordered the motenergy 0421. I am aiming to become vice president of the m.e.n.s club.

I've still been poking at a good way to drive the rear wheel. Disc brake seems to be the best way to do it, but these bike hubs seem rather weak.. can they really handle 10 horsepower or above? O_O

What's stronger?

Think of what a bike's disc brake mounts are meant to do. They attach to a brake disc that will be used to stop the bike from high speeds in a short time. Chances are that your motor's torque will not exceed that of the brake when it is being used at full potential.

We'll see i guess.. if they can hold up to 20-30 horsepower. If not, i will have to start getting into motorcycle componentry i suppose.

I think you should just get an Agni..

Ypedal has a KMX with a dinky little 5302 or 5304 in it. he also has an Agni 95 and a whoop-ass controller lying around gathering dust. i always figured he should put that agni into the KMX, But he claims the KMX frame is not stiff enough. i figure he's just chicken.

whoops, there i go name calling one of the admins behind his back. sorry Gaston, but it had to be said.

LOL.. i won't quote you on that one..

I personally found the KMX to be on the flimsy / flexy side though.
FFR trikes has put together a MARS/ETEK bike on a KMX chassis though, so, yeah.
