In 2004 artist Simon Starling built his own ebike to travel 41 miles across the Tabernas Desert in Spain. The bike was powered by a portable fuel cell and Starling used two bottles containing 800 liters of compressed gas that produced 600 ml of pure water over the trip.

Cool... but if their bikes are anything like this:

If that's hydrogen, IIUK H is about 530 Wh/l... 800L = 424 kWh... /41 miles = 10.3 kWh/M...

Eff can't be that bad can it? US DOE reported 60% eff for PEM cells... I see Horizon is claiming 40% to 48% (probably only under optimum conditions.) Dunno if any of these %'s are truly "well to wheels".

Nice ebike vid from Horizon but curious to know watt the numbers are...
