hi , I want to build a mbs mountain board and i have 2 different set up to choose from

1- 8 inch pneumatic , 5s lipo 30ah , 15/60 tooth , dual 245 sk3 motors

2- 8 inch pneumatic , 10s lipo 15ah , 15/60 tooth , single 145kv sk3 motor ( or maybe 2 motors )

my goal is good torque at the start and max speed of 40kph to save battery efficiency

the 5S set up is cheaper in cost and the rc calculator give about the same speed for each set up its around 30mph 5s and 34mph for 10s but the torque is it the same?

I also want some traction in the snow on the street this winter  so I don't know if rear dual or diagonal is good for drifting thanks

Hello

My set up is a eMBS too, IMO it's better to go with a dual motor and a 10s-12s 15mAh
This thing is addictive :) so far I can get 18 miles range with 10S.

I'll post some pics.

Hey.

On a MTB i would only go with Dual Motors.
You talk about drifting? Go with a Dual Rear Setup. Perfect for drifting (-;

10-12S is the better way to go for a 30mph setup, btw its really fast, i would think about the gear ratio and go better with a 1:6 Reduction.

I use the SK3 168kv with 12S and 1:6 its good for 45kmh, nearly 30mph.

10S 15AH is quite a huge pack ! maybe 12S 6200 could take the benefits of the additional voltage to lower amps and consumption?
Today I ordered SIX 6S 5000mAh battery packs for my mountainboard project, to get 12S 15Ah config :D It's gonna be HUGE! (and the range should be nice :) )
And it's nice to see so many mountainboard built threads. Wish You good luck OP

I've been shopping around for a MTNB and your best bet would be a MBS setup for about $399.95. A similar setup on Trampa would be close to $700.

http://shop.mbs.com/boards/mountainboard/comp-line/mbs-comp-95-mountainboard-birds.html $399.95.

It's got some ratchet bindings + newer Matrix II Pro trucks and Rockstart II Hubs.

Next step is making your motor mounts, drive wheel hubs.
ESCs + Motors.

Purchase a waterproof box and wire everything up.
