***Nevermind, the more I read all these great detailed build posts, I think I can manage it myself. Thanks for replying***

Everyone has been so generous with their time and expertise here on the forums with help picking parts for my new eMTB build. I'm having a hard time putting all the variables together though, and it's bogging down my momentum.

If someone is willing I'd like to pay them to make a parts/shopping list so that everything will work together.

I have a MBS board with matrix trucks and metal hubs (5 bolts) 8 inch wheels.

I will need:
battery(s)
charger
speed controller(s)
RC throttle
2 motors
belts/sprockets (calculate size and part #, (plastic or aluminum?))
idea for mount, some recommended solutions

Considerations:
Needs a bit of hill-climbing power because of where I live
max speed maybe up to 25mph (I know thats pretty fast)
my weight 185 lbs.
cost efficient(don't need the top of the line stuff, but I don't want trouble down the road, simple, tried and true)

Different suggestions:
chain vs. belt?
if belt, plastic vs. aluminum
2 speed controllers vs. 1

So yeah, if this is something you'd be willing to do, I will PayPal you whatever's fair. I've already got a ton of good input and suggested parts from everybody--just need to boil it down to a shopping list of compatible parts)

I guess PM me. Thank you

Heres a couple of my other threads:

Or I could donate it to the forums, or your favorite non-profit?

I know it's kind of tacky to offer money, and it runs counter to the DIY spirit. I feel like I'm a drag to the forum coming in with not much to contribute. I do post my questions conscious that the answers might help others who come here for similar help.

I promise you though, once I have the right parts, I'm super capable of building the board.

I could help :)

There aren't as many eMTB's as there are eBoards. Parts aren't as readily available.

Your idea isn't that difficult. It's mainly the same as all other builds a few things may be different.

That would be awesome torque. Think of a price for your time.

Everything is pretty much laid out in other posts--the only thing that will take some figuring is the sprockets. The diameter of the hub sprocket will have to be slightly wider than the MBS 8" wheel hubs (to mount them). The motor shaft one is the one I might have to fine tune for speed vs. torque later, but I figure it can err on the side of torque for now.

I still haven't decided if belts are going to do the job, I know you recommended chain for MTB in another post.

It would be great if I could find cheaper motors too. It's hard (for me) to find SK3 6374 equivalents. Is HobbyKing the only game in town?

Try the Tacon Big foot 160 motor for a similar size/quality motor to the sk3 6374.

Excellent! If those will work, you just saved me $60.

It occurred to me over the weekend that I can't even start this project without some way to mount the motors--so until then I'm kinda dead in the water.

Just FYI. That Tacon is a 50mm motor and not nowhere near a SK3 6374 but it's still a great motor. I would recommend Tacon.

Tacon Big foot 160 "is" 6364.

Sk3 6374 and 6364 are 59mm diameter, while the 6354 is a true 63mm diameter.

All fit Torqueboards 63 series mounts.

Doh! Thanks for the correction Pedi. Why does that image say 5335?! Guess, that's what I get for not looking clearly.

Those are some cheap motors though. Steal!
