I received a ninebot Max30 (black one no fold) with the 1004 watt hours lipo. It won't charge over 36.1 volts and after sitting a week you can see where it's at now, which is its rating, when I connect the digital thingamabob. Lol. Is this the built-in BMS, I've read about after coming here, or limiting that or is there a problem and it still should show or charge to 42V at least volts?
Unfortunatley we can't see anything, as you have not posted any images.
We don't know what your "digital thingamabob" is either, so you'll have to post a picture of that if you don't know what it is called.
However, if you have a battery that won't charge, you either have:
-- a charger that isn't working or not outputting the correct voltage
-- or is not the correct charger for the system,
-- or a battery that has failed internally
-- or a fuse that has blown between charge port and battery
-- or another connection failure has happened between charge port and battery
In any event, since all but the second in that list are a defect of the system that should be covered under warranty, you should contact the place you received it from or Ninebot for warranty service.
The second in the list you can fix by using the correct charger, unless the wrong one was supplied to you by the seller, in which case you'll still have to contact them about it.
If you don't care about the warranty or it doesn't have one and you want to repair it, then you'll need to use a voltmeter or multimeter to do some testing.
If you want to do that, we can start describing some tests you can do, if you are willing to follow the steps and report each result to help us figure out the next test.
The first step is to tell us if the system ever worked (charged) correctly for you or not, and if it did, then what specifically happened between the time it did work and the time it did not?
