Was considering buying this kit. It does not look like any other motor I've seen, and has the wires exiting like a cromotor, which I really like, instead of out the axle end. Also comes with a freewheel, disk rotor and controller. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. I have not been able to find out the manufacturer, or a review on this hub. Maybe a crystalyte knockoff? Just curious if anyone has tried one out? If the winding count is known? etc. If not I maybe the guinea pig. :D

Only downside is it is made for 150mm dropouts, but that will be ok, just have to look for a 150 frame.

What do you think?

Got 150mm dropouts? Most, but not all, dropouts that we use are 135MM. Wires look like they come out a slot in the axle like the C-Lyte. My brand new 3540 wires were near stripped to bare wire before I even had it together. Still have not got it running yet. Hope they have that fixed by now. Good luck in your purchase but be careful on flea bay hard to say what you are actually buying. They even have a picture of my first bike being used by many to advertise their product. It's not their product nor picture. Look around on the forum and find a dealer or something that has werqed well for others it's the safest way to buy.

icecube57 tried that motor, wrote about it below:

I bought one of these motors too... wish I hadn't. The QC is better than on IceCube's but it's still stupid that the magnets are half the width of the enclosure. Mine is actually 140mm so will fit in 135mm dropouts if steel. I did a no load and it will run about 25mph under load at 48 volts.

Thanks for the heads up guys, will stay away. Give my money to a more reputable vendor.

I'm confused. I assume it's not a real Magic Pie, as they have the teardrop pattern around the casing, and by all accounts can take several kilowatts instantaneous.

Is it some kind of a MP knockoff? Or a parts bin hybrid?

i think icecube bot one of these motors. ask him.
The answer is, he did. Quality was piss poor though. Almost as if the people who put the motor together were doing it blindfolded. Same wire cut issue as with the H- series motor. He put a review of the moror on his build thread.
