New KT controller - how to open it

Hello,

I have bought KT48ZWSRKT-SJ02L controller. I have tried to open it, but then realized that the mosfets are screwed directly to the housing and you can't slide the board out. If I remove all the screws, metal plates from the other side will fall off and I won't be able to reassemble it. Does anyone have the idea how to do that?

It can be tricky but it can be done.

What do you mean by metal plates as it should just be the fet block attached to the controller pcb.

Normally you'd just undo the 4 or 5 small screws that hold in the steel end plate,

Undo the fet bolts and slide it all out of the case, the pcb board slides in grooves in the aluminum case.
I put a piece of paper or parchment paper under the pcb.

Slide it back in and use a couple small screw drivers to hold up the fet block through the case to free up your hands.

With one hand, you move the controller pcb
While your other hand quickly attaches the first fet block bolt and the rest is easy, all while seeing through the case fet hole to the fet block on pcb

The only difference with yours that I see is the end plates are plastic. But it should really be the same as all the generics I worked on, it could be that there is some goo or silicone holding the board in place. There will be some white grease on the back of the fet block. Could be you just need to open the other end plate and slide it out that way.

Take a picture of these metal plates you talk about.

I remember running into something similar, but its just finagelling it, you gotta have patience.

No it is different, as I said in the post, FET block is not attached to the alu-bar as before so you can slide it from the housing. They are screwed directly to the housing. From the inner side there are small alu brackets holding 2 by 2 FETs to the housing. 9 screws - 18 FETs

End plates are metal.
Does anyone have the wiring diagram of the controller?

....with the earlier controllers, when the top end plate screws (i.e. two from each end) were removed the entire lid could be flipped off giving access to the internals.

Are you saying you can no longer do this, or have I missed the point somewhere.. :(

You can open end plates (actually the one without the wires) the you will see that if you remove screws from side (second pic) brackets holding FETs fall off and you won't be able to put them back, because the length of the controller. They probably have some tool for holding those brackets when assembling.

I will post the picture ..

Yes, I understand exactly what you mean, but if you flip the lid off the case you can access the fet clamp brackets from the top. You might have to lever the top off, but it should come away. Otherwise, as you say, it's not possible to assemble the controller.
