I just spotted this over at DX.

SSC-P7 + 2*XP-E 16W 3-Mode 1400-Lumen LED Headlamp Set (4*18650 included)

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.36018

The main light is a SSC P7 and the two smaller lights are XP-E lights. Unfortunately, they don't show a beam pattern shot, however, looking at the photos of the box, they show that the P7 is the main light and the 2 XP-E lights are side/wide lights.

I've had great luck with my dual P7 MagicShine lights and will probably upgrade to these in the fall when the days start getting shorter again. I know it looks like a pair of Mickey Mouse ears, but it will certainly be bright!

That does look like a pretty cool device. Truly, I hope it is available.

However ~ saying good things about DX is proving difficult for me having been waiting since January for them to fulfill an order they partly shipped and then promptly said they were out of stock – even though they continue to sell it on the website as if it is readily available. I’ve had to look elsewhere for parts and written off the loss :|

just cancel the order they will refund your $$$'s. I have done this a couple of times, no problem.

I would agree with Adrian and just request a refund. They will usually send you a refund within 24 hours.

Results are in, I am very pleased with my purchase. Bottom line, at 2.5x the price of a Planet Bike Blaze 2 Watt, they are well more than 2.5x the value.

Reference: Planet Bike Blaze 2 Watt, $54.99 before shipping.

Ordered the MagicShine from Geomangear, $129.99 before shipping.

After shipping, $138.85.

Anecdotally, I went from looking though a lens that was bright enough to give me "Oh shit, pothole!" warnings at 15mph, to confidently braking into corners at 20mph -- and being to tell the difference between a crest of a hill versus the dropoff of beam density.

The MagicShine has enough low beam spread that I spotted a pair of does maybe 15 feet off the side of a trail, and I was moving quietly enough that I saw them before they saw me.

Here's some pictures. Mind you, this is with a digicam at automatic settings, so for the Blaze photos, the camera was waiting a bit before it processed the image.

I'm willing to take outdoor photos with a fixed exposure time upon request.

Both light systems at highest (I can't really tell the difference compared to the previous image):

Thanks drewdiller for that very nice review. The Magicshine triple looks really terrific. Very broad beam spread with no major hot spots.

Did you hook this light into your main battery pack, or are you running it off of the small rechargables? This looks good for an early morning commute.

I actually sold the unit to a friend, I was running off the little rechargeable pack they come with. I've since moved onto a pair of the older model, the 900 lumen (though it's more like 700), for no reason other than I enjoy symmetry. Those I run from my large battery through some DC-DC reduction.

I put lots of miles on at night and this triple light setup is great. The service that I received from geomangear was excellent. I just can't say enough and how extreemly happy I am with everything about these lights.
