New Moderator needed

Hi, with Amberwolf suddenly disappearing, we have some serious shoes to fill here!
And it couldn't have came at a worse time, when our forum growth is ticking up.
We are looking for another volunteer moderator in the USA time zone to help lighten the load between our 3 active moderators.

Duties:
- Kill spam
- Rarely, help with judgement calls in moderation ( we like to get a lot of perspectives in complicated cases )
- Occasionally help filter new member approval queue
- Help make management decisions in the best interest of the forum

The work load is pretty light, a few hours a week, and the tools needed to play moderator are relatively streamlined and easy to use.

What we're looking for:
- Not strongly politically opinionated
- Been here for at least 4 years
- Fairly active on the forum
- Known good post history
- No affiliation with ebike companies that would represent a conflict of interest with ES

With that said, do we have any hand raisers?

I think we would consider a younger member if they had some previous experience moderating things, managing people, or something related, we'll consider you!

Thanks for always providing a balanced and sensible perspective and reflecting that while moderating. I'm glad you were there to make the tough calls.

I picked Nicobie specifically because he counterbalanced my then strong political bias. He taught me to keep my mouth shut about politics because it was the best thing for the forum. I didn't like hearing that, but he was right.

I learned how to be a better leader here with Nicobie's help. We both made tough decisions to shut down the politics hellhole that was festering here. He deserves a spot in the ES hall of fame for that.

The new crop of moderators ( 99t4, portugaline, harrisonpatm ) are learning quick and asking the right questions. I think the sphere is going to keep rotating despite the loss of some giants on staff and i'm really happy we still have people willing to help out, whether they're coming or going ^_^
