New Sur Ron competition from Sondors - MetaBeast + MetabeastX

This is a bold move, but the competition is fierce. The standard model looks like a competitor to SurRon. It's going to be interesting to see how this pans out.

I think the one massive advantage over the Sur-ron is right there: "fully-homologated, street-legal". Sure we see people ride around Sur-rons all the time unregistered and to each his own but I think there is a solid market for a bike that like that can be registered and doesn't cost a fortune.

Looks like it has a pogo stick for a rear shock no reservoir. Then they don’t mention the brand of suspension front or rear. It looks to have a 19 inch front and 19 inch rear which is not the best for off-road. All these Chinese companies keep doing that making these expensive bikes with 19 inch wheels and cheap suspension. Then spend another 3 1/2 grand on wheel and suspension upgrades you’re close to the price of a stark varg.

The 18kw peak model says 60 Nm Peak Torque, that’s it??

I disagree at least when it comes to the surron crowd, I don't think most surron riders want a fully street legal bike and the costs that comes with. Surron has already released the "storm bee" which can be bought in a street legal version for $8500 and I never see anyone speak about it online (also the ultra bee as well but its just coming out so hard to say if people will on that model). It boasts better spec's than the MetabeastX and has already been out for a while and is only $500 more than the quoted msrp. And that is if you believe the spec's they are giving you right now, I'm already getting flash backs to the metacycle and it's over promising. We could see the X line up more with the Ultra bee when it finally comes out. Not to mention all surrons now come with a vin, meaning in a lot of states its quite easy to make one legal (follows the same steps as making a dirt bike legal which I'm familiar with) and I've only seen a few people online do it while most just ride illegally and hope the cops don't care. Also for what it's worth a surron light bee is $4350, add a bac4000 and a 72v battery and you are around $7500. Around me that's lightly used low miles zero fx money which is legal and has wayyyy better spec's, but again the surron crowd isn't after a bike like that

I do agree that I think their is a market for a street legal E motorcycle that doesn't cost a fortune though, but again the Metacycle has made me skeptical of anything they do a preorder on again.
