First post, thanks for looking.

I have a Super73 S2 which comes stock 48v battery and 2 kW hub motor. My question is, are there any kits or recourses available for converting the bike to a more powerful setup? So maybe a 72v, more powerful motor and controller. I am looking to push the bike up to around 45mph (from 31mph currently) if possible to allow me to stay with traffic better during my daily commute. Any advise would be appreciated, thanks!

Yup, buy a motorcycle.
Seriously, there are E-motorcycles and builds here that that can hit 45 mph, but as you surmised, you would need at least 72 Volts w/ a very large battery capacity, a lg. and powerful controller and possibly a larger motor, basicly, a complete redo. And that's not even considering cabling and wiring and motor mounting reinforcement, lot's of $$$. And generally, mod'ing factory built ebikes doesn't turn out that well.
My advice would be, rather than devaluing your current ride by tearing into it, sell it and rethink what kind of vehicle will meet your transpo needs.
Or rethink your route that will allow you to travel at more sane ebike speeds.
Lastly, what are the laws where you live?
I think generally ebikes are limited to 31 MPH while pedaling and what you have is pushing the deffination of "ebike", more like an e-scooter w/ pedals to rest your feet on. How is local traffic enforcement going to feel about an unregistered e-scooter doing 45 mph?

You are hitting on what I have been planning on doing, but I just didn't have the knowledge on ebikes to decide if upgrading parts on my Super73 would be a viable option. Ebike laws by me allow for ebikes of up to 750w and 20mph, so I am already skirting the boys in blue as is. You summed up my upgrade option enough for my to realize that it really isn't one and to go with the e-motorcycle route instead to meet my needs, appreciate it.
