When is a 28 inch tire not a 28 inch tire --when it is a 700X38C. When I bought t my hybrid Raleigh I was told it had 28 inch wheels. When I decided to convert my hybrid I looked at the tire size and it indicates 28X 1/8 X 1 1/2 . It also says 700X38C. I thought I had a 28 inch wheel instead I had a 700. The fact that no one in North America offers a 28 inch wheel kit should have clued me in-- well it didn't. I got my wheel and while it was very close in size the tire wouldn't fit. I was lucky enough to find a local bike shop that can get a tire for me. It will be another $45. dollars for a new tire. It will be an awesome build but I am kicking my self for not picking up on this sooner. Tire and wheel sizing is more involved than it appears. My advice to all e bike virgins is that if you are not entirely sure of your tire size send the specs to the supplier.
Lesson learned confirm your tire size, get your kit, complete your build and ride, ride, ride!!
