I only found out about this because my brother told me over xmas dinner he met a guy that had a quick swim in the lake and was feeling weird about it due to the smug nature of the local indigenous folk watching him. They then told him after he came out that a crocodile eating snake had been seen in the water just 3 days earlier.

A group of tourists spent hours Saturday night looking for a missing woman near Iceland's Eldgja canyon, only to find her among the search party.
The group was travelling through Iceland on a tour bus and stopped near the volcanic canyon in the southern highlands Saturday afternoon, reports the Icelandic news organization mbl.is. One of the women on the bus left to change her clothes and freshen up. When she came back, her busmates didn't recognize her.
Soon, there was word of a missing passenger. The woman didn't recognize the description of herself, and joined in the search.
About 50 people searched the terrain by vehicles and on foot. The coast guard was even readying a helicopter to help.
But the search was called off at about 3 a.m., when it became clear the missing woman was, in fact, accounted for and searching for herself.

Hope Ruller Lay Dead For 14 Months While Daughter Lived Upstairs
Authorities in Gloversville, New York, are investigating the death of a 94-year-old woman whose body may have been decomposing for nearly 14 months as her daughter lived upstairs.
Hope Ruller's body was discovered Dec. 29 after police received a request from a relative to check on her welfare.
It appeared Ruller died as much as 14 months ago, but her death had never been reported, even though she shared the home with her daughter, Mary Kirsteen, and Kirsteen's adult son.
An autopsy failed to determine a cause of death because Ruller's body was severely decomposed, according to the Associated Press.
Investigators for the Gloversville Police Department are looking at the family's financial records for a possible connection to Ruller's death.
"Often times, when people fail to report the death of an elderly person, perhaps there is a financial motive," District Attorney Louise Sira told Albany TWC News.
Richard Ruller, a son of the deceased woman who lived in Colorado, believes there is reason to be suspicious.
“I sent them Christmas cards. One to [my sister], one to my mom and I sent my mom money and the check was cashed,” he told News10.com.
He told the station that his sister told him back in May that his mother was doing well.
Police are treating the death as suspicious but have yet not labeled Kirsteen or her unnamed son a suspect in any crime, WNYT.com reports.

Sounds like it was a decent sized drone too so its just money down the drain... In fact its such a stupid thing to do I am wondering if it was deliberately done to cause tougher drone laws, but I can't imagine there are many people who can gain from tough drone laws if even anyone?

And they DO have anti aircraft devices at the White House, it just doesn't work on drones because they're too small.
