There's only one single thing from my life that I genuinely believe was probably a crippling mistake, and that's letting the optimism of my parents brainwash me. I'm glad that I can either choose to have infinite compassion for a person, or choose to ignore them entirely; but when I look at the nearly constant human sacrifices from the Egyptian region, the centuries of contempt and abuse that black people suffered in America and Europe, the fact that every time I turn around someone else's ASN is just begging me to come fix their BGP hardware, not to mention Stalin and Hitler victimizing entire races solely to steal their resources -- well, I would have prepared my heart better for the reality of our species. I'd like to ignore the occasional mistake, because I was not informed by my government that I was on-call 24/7/365 in my area of application.

C'est la vie. Nobody is going to save anybody. Now if they bake kids alive in ovens for no good reason, then I'll be surprised. Until then, from across an entire ocean, I'm just going to ignore it and go back to bed.*

That's literally the cause of my weird shit -- trying to decipher whatever reality other people are presenting me with. I don't mind going down a rabbit hole (hey, I'm not gonna die if I'm stupid and believe incorrect bullshit fed to me by a beautiful woman), but it definitely ruins my professional image.

Let's be honest though: I left that dumpster fire behind me a decade ago. There's no point to pretending I'm perfect anymore. I'd rather decipher the truth by playing the idiot and seeing what / when people will respond than protect something I shredded already.

Mid-research summary: women never have headaches and apparently claim that urination is cumming really hard. I'm saddened and deeply shocked that there's a rational reason to ignore what the average woman says. Personally I think you still have to assume it's the truth anyway, at least until they've abused the fact that you can't truly know what they feel (only they know that), but I can see why the average man gave up already.
