DOVER — Police arrested a man they say stole a car, crashed it into a telephone pole and tried to ride away on a bicycle.
On June 26 at about 9 a.m., a woman called Dover police to report that her car was stolen from the area of Pleasant View Circle. She told police she parked it around 6 p.m. on June 25 with the doors unlocked and the keys inside the vehicle.
At about 5 a.m. on June 26, Rollinsford police recovered the stolen vehicle after it was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Goodwin Road. According to a Dover police report, a Rollinsford officer stopped a person near the scene, who initially denied involvement.
However, a witness on Goodwin Road heard the crash and saw the same person Rollinsford police had stopped near the scene. He was identified as Antonio Russell, 18, of Somersworth. The witness told police Russell took a bicycle out of the trunk of the silver Cadillac DeVille and attempted to ride away from the scene. However, the suspect was unable to pedal very far. The witness told police he saw the bicyclist wobble, and Russell reportedly told the witness he was too drunk to ride his bike.
Russell is facing numerous charges from two departments. Rollinsford police charged Russell with a felony of receiving stolen property, and two misdemeanors of driving under the influence and conduct after an accident. He was arraigned on July 23 and has been released on $1,000 personal recognizance.
Dover police, after consulting with the Strafford County Attorney’s Office, charged Russell on July 21 with felony theft of a motor vehicle. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance. He is to be arraigned in Dover Circuit Court on Sept. 4.

DALLAS (Reuters) - An East Texas man was wounded after he fired a gun at an armadillo in his yard and the bullet ricocheted back to hit him in his face, the county sheriff said on Friday.

Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe said the man, who was not identified, went outside his home in Marietta, southwest of Texarkana, at around 3 a.m. on Thursday morning. He spotted the armadillo on his property and opened fire.

"His wife was in the house. He went outside and took his .38 revolver and shot three times at the armadillo," Rowe said.

The animal's hard shell deflected at least one of three bullets, which then struck the man's jaw, he said.

The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where his jaw was wired shut, according to Rowe.

The status of the animal is unknown.

"We didn't find the armadillo," the sheriff said.

Flyback from a bullet doesn't have to have hit the armadillo. So I was at the range shooting with my girlfriend at the time, who looked totally like a priss but was nothing of the kind. (You should have seen her wielding a shotgun.) She jolted a bit and grabbed her ankle. It was bleeding. There was this retired SWAT cop there, he saw the whole thing and came over looking at it and asked if the bullet just scraped her or hit full on. Suddenly he grabbed her, he'd looked at her face at just the moment she'd passed out at the thought she'd shot herself in the ankle.

What had really happened was this was an indoor range with the metal clamp to hold up your target, which you can zip in and out. A round hit it and a piece bounced right back some 15-25 feet, I don't remember how far exactly. It was just a big scratch. From then on when we went shooting she wore high boots.

Someone alert Mulder and Sculley. I know this is just the sort of subject people here would love to argue about, but I put it in 'News of the Wierd' anyway. I suppose they can still get an argument going about it.

There's a video.

Body found of man connected to missing woman, believed to be 'human/alien hybrid'

LOS ANGELES, Ca. (KTLA) -- A man with a home filled with guns and whose decomposed body was found in an SUV in Pacific Palisades was believed to be a human/alien hybrid secretly working with the U.S. government by his fiancée, according to the woman's mother.

Dawn VadBunker was last seen by her family on the same day Jeffery Lash allegedly died. Lash has not been officially identified, but his former attorney confirmed his name to KTLA.

VadBunker's mother believes her daughter has been caught in the middle of a mysterious death investigation and may be suffering from a mental breakdown. According to Laura VadBunker, her daughter believes Lash was an alien "sent to earth to protect us."

"I can't believe this," Laura VadBunker told KTLA in a telephone interview. "It's worse than a Twilight Zone movie and we've lived through hell."

Lash's body was discovered by police on July 17 in an SUV in the 1700 block of Palisades Drive. Police were alerted to the body by an attorney representing the victim's fiancée Catherine Nebron, who also happens to be VadBunker's employer.

Lash collapsed on July 4 in the parking lot of a Bristol Farms in Santa Monica, according to Nebron. She and VadBunker tried to help him, but Lash died, defense attorney Harlan Braun told KTLA.

Nebron and VadBunker believed Lash was a secret government agent, but not entirely human.

"He was part alien and part human and was out to save the world," Laura VadBunker said.

Nebron didn't notify authorities when Lash died because she thought the secret agencies he worked for would come and collect his body, she told Braun.

She left him in her SUV near their home and went to Oregon with VadBunker, whose family reported her missing two days later.

"It was craziness, it was nuts," Braun said.

After two weeks, no one had come to get Lash's body.

"When she came back, she was shocked that the agencies hadn't picked him up," Braun said. "So then she decided she'd better call police."

Inside the home, detectives found more than 1,200 firearms — including handguns, rifles and shotguns — as well as more than 6 tons of ammunition, according Braun.

There were also a number of SUV's modified for use on different types of terrains, including an amphibious vehicle, he said.

Braun also claimed police found $230,000 in cash, which his client knew nothing about.

As for VadBunker, she has still not returned from Oregon or called her parents or her children, her mother said.

She did send a letter in which she confirmed she was there when "Bob" died and that he "fought to stay alive," according to her mother.

A human/alien hybrid .......really D?.....Ok, the Pacific Palisades area of L.A. is a richer part of town. Not the richest, but wealthier then most parts around here. Also, the children of the original owners of the houses up there are now the majority owners of the properties as they have inherited the properties. And they are accustomed to the good life, but don't know how to support themselves. Most of them don't work themselves but try to live on the business their parents developed.....and they are unhappy about it. The people in the Pacific Palisades are some of the most unhappy people in the world. I worked a job there just a few weeks ago and I can tell you from first hand experience that those people up there are seriously unhappy. Scowls everywhere.

So now the nut job with all the guns and ammo died from a bad diet/life......and now he is a human/alien hybrid??? What a joke.

He was some sort of nut with enough money to buy and maybe sell guns. With all the guns and ammo he had it looks like he was a better buyer then seller. He was obviously a weirdo who thought something was happening when it really wasn't.

Human/ alien gun dealer.......

Bad fantasy that leads to full on hallucinations about people coming to get them.... It happens all the time with gun lovers.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...e-crash-then-things-take-an-unexpected-twist/ :p
Things took a strange twist Thursday night when U2 frontman Bono honored the woman who dialed 911 after he crashed his bike and broke his arm late-last year in Central Park.
During a concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Bono gave the woman a shout out from the stage.
“I am here today because some people, when I crashed my bike here in the city, a beautiful girl made a phone call to 911. She’s from Denver, but she’s here tonight. And so is Engine 44, the firefighters that picked me up off the ground,” Bono told the audience, according to the New York Post.
The rock star then handed the microphone to the woman. That’s when things took a sudden turn.
“I have to clarify, it’s Alyssa and I’m from DC, not Denver,” she reportedly quipped back with some snark.
“She’s just wrong. Bono should have revoked her ticket.”
“Bono, here’s what happened: I was running in Central Park, there was an accident, obviously I had to stop and help because I’m not from New York, I’m from Virginia, where people are nice,” she continued, according to the Post.
The New York crowd began to boo.
“Sorry, New York,” she said as the boos reportedly grew louder and more ferocious. “Anyhow, I called 911 because no one else was doing it.”
“People, he would not be here tonight if it weren’t for me!” she shouted.
The Post reported that the woman attempted to continue, but was drowned out by the thousands shouting and booing her.
“She just went on and on and didn’t stop. I almost think she planned it, to just blast New Yorkers. Eventually one of our guys yanked the mic out of her hand and gave it back. Knowing our guys I’m sure they said something to her,” one of the firefighters near her in the audience told the Post.
“It’s a bad rap this city gets and it’s typical that people think New Yorkers are horrible. This girl just completely typified the stereotype,” he added. “She’s just wrong. Bono should have revoked her ticket.”

A hitchhiking robot has set out on a 3,870 mile journey that will see it travel across Canada relying solely on the kindness of human strangers.

HitchBOT, which began its epic voyage outside Halifax on Sunday, is undertaking the journey as part of a social experiment to see if it can arrive in one piece at an art gallery in Victoria, British Columbia.

...and at the end of the journey it will apply for a staff position on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

No, not really. More likely to happen to gun haters. They're the ones who believe in Chemtrails, etc. They call marijuana "Meds." It's gun haters that are obsessed with aliens, in every form.

And of course it's gun haters who believe that freedom of speech is for themselves and themselves ONLY. That they're entitled to, say, go rip the mic out of the hand of the hero of the night if she says something other than what they want her to say.

http://krqe.com/2015/08/03/albuquerque-man-says-savers-sold-his-beloved-bike-while-he-shopped/ :x
ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- Savers is a popular thrift store known for selling people’s former treasures and in one man’s case, his current prized possession.
“It was like some kind of a bad dream that you can’t wake up from,” said Peter Serianni, an antique dealer.
Serianni says he still can’t believe what happened to him Saturday afternoon. He says a clerk at the Carlisle Savers agreed to watch his bike while he shopped. But when he came back 20 minutes later it had disappeared.
“I was looking around for it,” said Serianni. “I ran around the parking lot like a chicken without a head.”
But the bike was long gone.
“If someone had stole it, that would almost be understandable”, said Serianni.
Turns out, a clerk sold it to a customer. Serianni says the 1937 Dayton bike was worth around $1500. But he says police told him Savers gave it to someone for a much better deal, $4.99.
He says besides saying sorry, employees at the store had little else to offer. He filed a police report but it’s unclear if a crime was even committed. The bike was his only way to get around and his daughter says he’s devastated.
“He was just hysterical, absolutely hysterical and I felt so helpless for him and I knew how hopeless he must feel”, said Selena Serianni.
They say the bike is worth much more than just its sticker price.
“I have a lot of blood and sweat and tears into that bike”, said Serianni.
And they would do anything to get it back.
“We don’t want a big check from the company, we don’t want the attention for any wrong way, we want it to get this bike back and that’s purely it,” said Selena Serianni.
“I just want this whole comedy of errors to have some sort of resolution that works for everybody”, said Serianni.
The Serianni’s say if the person who bought the bike would be willing to return it, they’d be more than happy to give them back their five bucks and maybe even a reward on top of it.
KRQE did try to speak to Savers about this incident Sunday. An employee acknowledged it did happen, but told us to call their corporate offices for comment. KRQE didn’t hear back.
If you have any information about the bike, please contact reporter Candace Hopkins at (505) 764-5235 or candace.hopkins@krqe.com.

Given my understanding of general human nature, I was stunned that the hitchbot was able to travel from location to location unmolested, and not be smashed for some dimwit's entertainment or stolen by some asshole for parts and scrap value.

But then, I grew up in Philly, so that's where I formed my understanding of general human nature. It all makes sense now.

Um, what does that have to do with Chemtrails? Which they were in high gear touting during the presidency of one George Dubya Bush. And since Obama DID carrying on about carrying on his threats, you're comparing the reasonable reaction of the gun owners to the unreasonable behavior of people who want freedom to do drugs that are proven harmful but dream up paranoia about clouds they watch form for "No reason." ("Dang, not a single plane, but the sky just misted up for NO REASON! You're telling me the government didn't do that?") THAT is what you should roll your eyes at.

Again, if you just listen when Obama speaks and realize what he's actually saying in public, you get that this has nothing to do hallucinations about people coming to get them. It has to do with Obama SAYING he's coming to get them. And Texas has never stopped getting ready for invasions since the civil war. In my lifetime, when I've gone there, there's been BILLBOARDS with warnings, etc. If the Germans had tried a landing there during WWII, boy would THEY have been in for a surprise. . . .

And yeah, they'd probably think the HitchBOT was a New World Order army weapon.

Haha - that explains a lot, LOL....

Seriously, you're a good fella but one thing I always remember about Philly is when Eagles fans threw snowballs at Santa Claus! Albeit, I understand he was pretty drunk but still…

And my personal experience attending Eagles LOSS in San Diego - end of game, chickenshit Eagles fan poured Beer into my wife’s purse/handbag. Oh, he ran and ran bolting through the crowd like the scared little bitch he is/was.

Now Hitchbot - all I need to know about the City of brotherly love…

TORONTO — Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s campaign bus appeared to be blocking a bike lane in Toronto on Thursday, while the leader was in the city for the first federal leaders’ debate.

A Reddit user by the name of kennethtoronto posted the photo online at about 10 p.m. Thursday night, after he said his girlfriend spotted the bus on Lower Simcoe Street while cycling.

“She went up to the bus driver to ask if he could stop blocking the bike lane,” the user said. “But the bus driver more or less told her to bug off.”

The user said the bike lane then remained blocked by the bus.

“Meh. Cyclists weren’t going to vote Harper anyway,” said the top-rated comment on the thread.

A cyclist who inadvertantly rode into the middle of a boar hunt while cycling in the woods in north-east Germany, was saved by the wire in her bra after she was hit by a bullet.
The woman, 41-year-old tourist on holiday from North Rhine-Westphalia, said she felt a pain in her chest according to newspaper Gadebusch-Rehnaer Zeitung, while cycling with her husband, which was found out to be the bullet deflecting off the underwire of her bra.
Her husband spotted the hunters in the Mecklenberg-Western Pomerania area and shouted them down to stop what they were doing. The women was taken to hospital in Gadebusch nearby by a passing motorist and was reportedly treated for bruising on her chest and a small blood clot.
The body of a boar was found in the line of fire and after inspection of the area with sniffer dogs and metal detectors, police believe the bullet may have rebounded off the boar before hitting the woman.
The identified hunter’s gun was taken along their ammunition by police and is now being investigated on suspicion of negligent injury.

On first glance, classrooms at Meadow Park Elementary in Port Charlotte are like any other.
But take a closer look under their desks and you'll find something you wouldn't expect: a "desk cycle."
"What I do like is that I makes me feel like I'm actually running," said second-grader Cage Corliss.
It's not PE class. Students are pedaling while learning math, science and reading.
Corliss says it helps him get his energy out while he's trying to concentrate.
"It can help you focus on your work most of the time," Corliss said.
That's the idea, says Principal Asena Mott, who brought these desk cycles to the school starting last year.
"There was a high need in this school to get the students involved in some sort of activity that would help them get their exercise daily and receive the added benefits from exercise," Mott said.
While the academic benefits are still being figured out, Mott says teachers have noticed instant improvement in behavior.
"Every single teacher using them in their classroom is just going on about how they need more. The kids are just able to focus and concentrate because they get their wiggles out right there in the room," Mott said.
Since Meadow Park has many students with high needs, the bikes can help even the playing field. But in reality most students who have used the cycles find them useful.
In one fourth-grade classroom, the teacher actually uses them during testing.
"I love it. It also helps me not get mad and frustrated," said student Gage Boyce.
"They're fun and they don't make you bored and they know your brain can help you do your best," added Peyton Granditis.
Currently, there are no plans for the cycles to be used in other schools.
The school has 60 bikes and is hoping to get more over the school year. They paid for the ones they have through a grant.
