Nickel Hydrogen?

I suspect these are just what is commonly called NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries. I could be wrong. Eagle-Picher of Joplin, Missouri make exotic batteries for space stations etc. Those may be another kind of animal, but are probably way too expensive for us.

Yeah, I'd bet that it is just 'something lost in translation'. Hydrogen---> Hydride ; Closer than a lot of translations I've read.

i looked it up, they are batteries with gaseous hydrogen in them, they need to be in a pressure vessel because when charged the pressure gets up to 20 bar. they used them on the space station i guess.
