Converted in 2009-2010, it was a very fun build. It was a blast to ride, but one afternoon in 2012 one of the cells vented some of its goo, and lost capacity. A job and career change left me focusing on other things, and I couldn't find a replacement for that model CALB cell. Eventually, with other things in the forefront, the pack dropped to 0 volts in storage, and it's been stored indoors that way since. I'd initially been thinking of pulling the cells and going with Leaf batteries or something similar, or stripping the whole thing down, and reusing some parts on a dual sport frame, but I've never quite gotten motivated to do that over other more interesting projects.
I'm open to parting it out, but would prefer it go to someone who wants the whole thing, due to the frame mods.
Frame: 1995 Kawasaki Ninja 250 - valid Florida title - modified with additional struts to prevent frame flex (the engine was a stressed member of the frame, and without that additional support the frame can end up bending in its center).
Tires: Kenda Cruisers, still in good shape.
Brakes: Stock, front brake has leaked fluid and needs flush and possible seal replacement, rear is still operable.
Motor: Mars ME0709
Controller: Kelly KD72401
Batteries: 24 CALB SE40AHA (sitting at 0v for almost a decade, and one has spilled some of its guts resulting in corrosion on its BMS board and cables)
Charger: TSL72-15 Charger from Elite Power Solutions (I believe mfg by Sky Energy) powered through solid state relay giving MiniBMS the ability to cut-off charging on individual cell peak voltage.
12v: Onboard 12v provided by Vicor power converter
BMS: Mini BMS
Speedo: Cycle Analyst
