I have had to replace sensor on extreme after it fell apart on removing BH Australia sent me new sensor with 100mm lead and 3pin plug on end. I watched the BH Utube vid of sensor replacement in the video the mechanic pulls the 3 pin clip out of sensor end in reality I can not do this as they are glued in place {moisture proofing } I guess. Now the 3 fine wires that are to be joined are different colours to the original wiring which is red blue yellow. the new sensor wiring is brown black blue. when I put meter on wires, original wiring with power on the screen says no assist and all 3 wires are showing negative milli amps. I am in a very remote location BH have supplied the parts but it is difficult getting any knowledgeable help in a timely manner. when I connect wires in any configuration it shows no assist . appreciate any help with this.

The torque sensor that works on the chain tension when you apply the peddle and my knowledge of bike electrics is limited. I have not being able to find a wiring diagram for a BH neo Extrem. I live in a very remote part of Australia so my nearest e-bike shops are 600 klm's away

I can only apply logic. The three wires must be signal, positive power supply (5v or 12v), and negative power supply (0v). The positive is nearly always red. When you have yellow and blue on sensors, yellow is ground and blue is signal. You should be able to confirm that with a meter by measuring between your battery ground for voltage first, and then continuity on the zero volt ones.

Now we have to figure out the other side. black is universally ground (0v), so an educated guess says brown is positive and blue is signal, so the first combination I'd try is Brown to red, Black to yellow and blue to blue.

Setting your meter to mA won't tell you much. You need to measure DC volts (20V range).

I had a similar issue on a Easy Motion Neo 29er when the torque sensor wire was severed. After receiving several replacements from BH North America we ended up having to swap the controller. It seems there are different models of the TMM sensor and they don't all work with the same controllers. I would recommend trying to get them to send you a controller and a torque sensor that have been tested to work together.

More about the torque sensor here: http://www.idbike.com/tmm-powermanagement.htm

I'll see if I can come up with a PDF of the service manual and send it to you. PM me your email address.

Thank you for you reply's. BH in Sydney just sent me another sensor the same wiring with longer lead, so I was able to run it to the controller and plug in it without having to join any wires. When I went to test the bike first it said no assist then code 13 which is a connectivity problem. The BH tech said it could be the display or the display mount I will have to wait till Monday now to talk with him again.

First of thank you for your help newschoolnerd with the wiring and service instructions, BH are sending new display and mount as they feel this is the problem. I will soon find out, should be here Friday

The parts arrived from BH Australia but no good. The bike will be sent back to BH Sydney where they said they would fix it or replace it.

BH have tested the bike and they could not resolve problem without completely replacing all wiring and they do not have the time to strip it,so they will replace it with a neo 29er as they wont have stock of extreme for another month. So I am very happy with BH Australia they also will start the warranty from now so I will get 2 yr warranty on bike and battery. My relationship with BH has been good since I first brought it to their attention of receiving the bike from one of the Sydney retailers sold bike as new, it was an obvious demonstrator at least. That company would not honour their obligations and BH said they would look after me, which they have. That particular company have many bad reports on forums in Australia I don't think they stock BH bikes any more only old stock and "reef" predator bikes a bit like their nature.

Well the the new BH 29er will arrive this Friday coming. I think it will be a much better bike for me with better quality gears 12 amp HR battery and better forks I was a bit concerned about those as I thought they were the same Suntour forks as the Extrem which are really ordinary but they are Suntour XRC MLO which rated 4th out of ten on entry level shocks. here is the link http://www.bike-advisor.com/bicycle-guides/budget-cross-country-forks-for-your-bike.html I have not rode a29er before but at 184 cm and 89 kilo it should fit fine. I will give a report on it after a few hundred K's I cant seem to find any reviews on the 29er just a overview can any body point me towards any links to an in depth review of this bike.

Well the 29er arrived today, I have just assembled it and took it for a test ride, it is a much better riding position for me in fact better size for me all round. It is very stable at speed down hill and though bends. the 29er is able to hold faster speed up long 2km 10 degree rise than the Extrem the Deore gears are so much smoother than the alivio's as for tight turns I find it easy to adjust to. only done 10km's today. Very pleased with the bike and the service from BH JETBLACK Sydney.

Maximum,
Who did you work with at BH to resolve your issue? I've been sold a (brand new) lemon and I'm having a hard time reaching resolution: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=63669&p=953119#p953119

Looking across multiple posts now on this forum, it appears that there are a number of quality control issues with the brand.
(In fairness, this could include a sample bias given a greater/equal number of individuals have likely not had any problems)

Thanks!
