nyloc flange nuts for hub motor axle?

ive been using threadlock on my flanged m14 axle nuts, bit annoying as i have to re-apply every time i have a tinker.

wondering if a nyloc flanged nut would be better, worse, the same?

annoyingly the only m14 nyloc flanged nuts i can see on ebay are titanium and about 6 quid each.

thoughts? opinions?

Oh well, Nord-Lock wedge-locking washers are still probably a better solution than nylox nuts.

i can buy a bag of ten m12 or m16 nyloc flanged nuts for a fiver.

Ansyway, the typical nuts and or lockwashers that come with the hubbies are wimpy. I like to replace them anyway. Too easy to cross thread or mash, I have used a castle before. Stainless steel Castle nuts rule. Locktite does wonders, also. Yes, somewhere, you will find that M14 Nyloc .. would try Mcmaster Carr or Fastenal.... But I just wanted to say you WILL find a M14 in Castle style. You could then loctite, drill a pin hole, and cotter pin it like a car hub nut.

Might as well try the nyloc as it is your preference. Maybe it will be a good solution? I wish you success and would like to see positive proof, but my experience with nyloc tells me it is not the effective solution to remedy loosening axle nuts. Think about it, how the nyloc works. It's a nut where some of the metal threads are replaced with a nylon segment that is slightly tighter than the metal portion. That nylon segment squeezes more against the threads on the axle (in this application) making it harder to turn. Not really locking, just harder to turn. Can't turn it by hand, but really easy with a wrench. Just seems like it is more suitable for holding against vibrations but not high torque clamping.

HA! Waddya know. i have two Nyloc M14 that fit on my QS motor axle just fine, right here. You can have them if you pay for shipping.

I'm saving up for Titanium.
