Oatnet's current Tidalforce X5tracycle protoype

I was thinking of the angle. Usually the seat is positioned horizontally:

But maybe it will when you are on it.

Nope, the thudbuster maintains the angle throughout compression, although the springs in the seat may compress enough to level it out a little bit. All my seats are on a similar angle, I need more clearance in that area for the twig and berries than a horizontal seat would allow -- guess I am packing more there than the average cyclist.

Of course, the guy in your video is leveling a completely different style of seat, on a completely different frame style (crank is in a differrent spot), for a completely different riding style...

Thanks cwah, I still have it but it is buried behind a bunch of newer builds. When I retire I'll dig it out to be my regular
beach transport, hauling chairs and umbrellas etc. I am skeptical that the xtracycle kit will fit on the bike - IIRC it is designed for 26" frames; if it did fit it would defeat the point of folder and being lightweight.

Apparently it's possible, see this:

What do you think?

It looks like it would fit with the section cut out as shown, although that is a structural section you'd be cutting through. I'd have to see it built to know better, but with the smaller wheel I'd be concerned about the wideloaders/footboards hitting the ground on mild turns. The back end of the xtracycle is pretty low on my 26" wheel with hookworms, so I'd also be concerned about the rear making contact on dips and speedbumps. The folded length and extra weight conflict with the intent of a lightweight folder, but your design criteria might supersede that.

I haven't xplored this configuration though, so I am just spitballing, not talking from experience.
