OCC Schwinn Trike hack ?

I stumbled across a good deal on a couple more Schwinn Stingrays that match what I have been playing with. A trike idea popped into my head but I dont know if it would work structurally. Cut the back 1/2 off the 2 worst frames, then bolt those 2 as "outriggers" to the main frame, with a wheel in each outrigger. Basically 3 frames all lined up with the front 1/2 cut off the outer 2. I would rather bolted/u-bolted assembly since I live in a condo (but can find a spot to weld if it's the only way). What you guys think, would it work or would the wheels want to "fold in" at the top ?

If you want a trike version of one of those things, use a bolt-on trike subframe. What you propose would not end well.

"Schwinn style" trike conversion frames use regular front and rear bike wheels, so they're preferable if you want to use hub motors in the rear.

Yes, that's the kind that uses one front and one rear bike wheel. Because of the wheel arches, there's a maximum wheel diameter (and tire width) that will fit, so you'll want to find one that's roomy enough for what you have in mind.

If they are true vintage Stingrays you might like to not chop them up as they are worth $$$.
"OCC" means Orange County Choppers, who were the design consultants for the 21st century reboot of the Stingray. Those were chopper-style, department store quality junk. But they were sturdy and arguably cool looking.

Oh, those. Some friends bought one for their son they liked to spoil, about 15-20 years ago. Everyone was oohing and ahhing it in the garage. I looked at it, then out at their very hilly neighborhood, and thought "no way."

That bike sat unused in the garage for quite a while until they got rid of it.

Naw, I just need to weld up my own using OCC frame parts. :D

G'day RP.
They're a good base for an ebike, lots of space. I managed to fit a small hub motor between the seat post & rear wheel as a mid drive.

Excellent for the 125cm rider the designers had in mind.

True Chalo on the original kids model. With due respect to your knowledge mate, if you looked closer, you'd have seen that I moved the seat back so an adult can extend their legs properly and the I have tall Apehanger bars so knees don't hit them.
Please don't flame me!

G'day people's.
Back to the OP's idea, here's some pics of trike back ends for ideas.
This one has a front hub motor.

As you can see, these trikes have a rear triangle like a two wheeler with the axle bolted on. The Stingray's triangle is fairly solid, I reckon it could handle it.
