Occasional "motor stoppage" fault on 'LCD 861' -Bafang CST

Ever since I first completed this build, I've received an occasional "motor stoppage" fault code on my 'LCD 861' display, which is mated with a 250-350w 6 fet minicontroller, and a Bafang CST 350w 270rpm (images below), run until recently at 36v. 400 miles on it from new. When it happens there is sometimes no power, until I waggle the controller wires gently and twist the throttle, then the code disappears. Other times the code disappears simply when I turn the throttle. Would anyone know whether I need to do anything with it, please?

It doesn't really cramp my style at the moment, because it only happens at the beginning of a ride after the bike's been dormant a while usually, there is no motor power even at no load, I do my throttle or waggling wires trick, and the code doesn't return. The other day however, at the beginning of my ride, the motor turned and then sort of 'coughed' and stopped while I was riding, and the fault code appeared. I did the waggling of wires, pressing brakes and throttle, and then power returned.

I think it has only happened with this controller. I have fully unwired and rewired a LOT of times and it doesn't permanently go away.

Would anyone have any thoughts please?

Thanks

Jonathan

Probably a faulty phase wire connection. Crimp the barrels down a bit and reconnect. These sort of problems can be very bad for your controller. Do not open the throttle more than a little bit if the motor stops to avoid blowing mosfets.
