Hi, N00b on the forum here!

I searched and Qs seem to be mostly opposite my issue:

I've upgraded to a Stealth Bomber type frame and it has a rear suspension 150mm rear dropout. The rear motor wheel used to fit perfectly (though snugly) in an old Specialized Rockhopper hardtail, which is 135mm.

Can I just add the right # of spacewash5 or spacewash3 spacers from Grin to fill the gap? Any other recommendations? Also, in the transition I'm moving from Vbrake to disc in case there's complications there.

Thx in advance!
Chris

How long is the actual axle of the motor you have?

If it's not long enough to have 15-16mm of washers (7-8mm per side) inboard of the dropouts, plus the nut and washer(s) on the outboard sides of the dropouts and still ahve the nuts fully threaded onto the axle, then it's not going to correctly fit in that frame.

You would probably have to make adapters that bolt to the frame, and extend the dropouts inward to the axle's length, and have the adapters clamp the axle instead of using nuts/etc.

(look up "clamping dropout")

Another issue is that if the motor has disc rotor bolt mounts on it, they aren't going to line up with the frame's caliper mount, without longer disc bolts, and spacers between the disc rotor and the motor.

I'm away from the bike, but axle is long enough for it to be in the dropouts and both nuts and washers mounted outside. Just gaps inside the dropouts..thanks for the caution on the disc brakes. I may order rotor spacers JiC.
