Of course it's nothing special, but this is what it is http://www.amazon.com/Portia-Ultra-Motor-Electric-Bicycle/dp/B001MAWXS4
Looks like everything is there but the battery. It also looks like it's it good shape upon initial glance, so I was thinking I'd grab it and pull the rear wheel/hub since I read it's a BLDC and did 18mph on 36V SLA in a 20" wheel. I'm also thinking this might be good for my Fiance when she gets here to make a quick run to the grocery store up the street since she won't have a car or drivers license for a while. Maybe toss a bargain LiFePo4 battery or a 12S2P LiPo setup into it with one of the BMS setups being sold for them for easy use because I have lots of extra 6S LiPo bricks now. I'll of course be replacing the controller with one of the many controllers I have laying around for better performance.
What do you guys think, should I take it and see what I can do with it? Costs me nothing and the bike shop wants it gone. Only reason it's going to me is they know I'm that ebike guy that comes in to buy parts all the time and everyone who works there knows me. I think it might make a nice little run around bike for the 5'1" future wife. Also, if it gets stolen I won't have much into it, but frankly it's ugly enough that I don't think too many people would want to steal it. I could probably have it up and running for under $100 depending on what needs replaced, right now it's lacking pedals which I think I have a spare set.
Would also be cool to cruise back down to the bike shop on it and let them ride it after I get it going close to 30 MPH.
If you know any info about this bike please let me know. I hope the description of the hub motor being BLDC is accurate since I have so many controllers and could up the performance by quite a bit.
