Anybody able to point me to actual customer reviews of OutriderUSA's line of e-trikes?
Or better yet, anyone have experience with them?

Thanks for the tip. I have registered over there and see there is lots of trike info. I appreciate the info!neptronix said:Outrider USA used to be called FFRTrikes. You can do a search on the forums for their exploits, including winning the last ebike race up pike's peak.
I've called up Tommy a few times and he's been really helpful on the phone. They know their stuff. Their customer is a high end one and not hobbyists like us. This might not be the place to ask for reviews. the 'bentrider' forums may yield more results - just a guess.
Yes, there is a Zhejiang, China company called Outrider that makes small-wattage hub motors and conversion kits. Outrider USA is unrelated to the Chinese company. Thx!liveforphysics said:The tiny 250w front geared hub on my roadbicycle says "Outrider" on it, but this seems to be an unaffiliated group.
Good point, and after reading some design pages and your build thread, I think this is something I could do. Thanks...I'll explore that option.migueralliart said:Just note that you're going to be paying A LOT of money for that trike. You can make a DIY build by getting a frame kit and sourcing the rear hub motor yourself and save a couple of G's in the meantime.

While I've enjoyed my KMX I always disliked the idea of taking it past 30mph. The steering feels too sensitive.
migueralliart said:I get the point of RC mid drives and such. Unfortunately the way Outrider did it makes it expensive and unique. To that point you could make a 30-35mph trike for less than 2.5K easily if you source the parts yourself and know what you are doing.
To the people reading this thread and considering a hub motor powered etrike you could get the KMX trike in a frame kit minus brakes and rear wheel.
~900$
You then buy the rest so that you can pick up whatever you like. You'll need;
BB ~25$
Front Crank $60
Front Brakes (pair) $140 (203mm BB7's YEAH)
Rear Freewheel and Derailleur ~$45
Shifter $18
Tires Tube $80
So far you got a total of $1268
Your Choice of: $1200
Rear HUB MOTOR
Controller
Battery
That is basically it. The math is simple. If you really need to go 40-45mph then buy an outrider trike or fork out some 5g's more and buy a zero motorcycle and be done with it. Otherwise the sub 2.5kw will put smiles on your face even when commuting.
