Parallel Balance charging with standard balance board

I want to parallel charge my packs and I'm planning to make a parallel balance cable for my 2 7s lipo packs and just had a thought.

I have an 8s lipo charger, with a balance board from 2s to 8s, can I just plug one 7s into the 7s port and the other 7s into the 8s port, shaving the connector so it will physically fit?
I haven't seen any posts from anyone else doing this this, but can't see how this wouldn't work.

It'll work until you screw up and plug the 7s plug into the 8s port wrong. I think you know what will happen then. If you decide to do this, block the 9th pin in the 8s slot so you can't plug it in wrong. But you can make or buy a parallel balance cable for a few bucks. Why risk it.
