My Ping Battery 48v is showing 45 volts and used to off the charger hold its usual 48v-50v when it was working correctly. The voltage will start at it's normal 60V fresh off the charger and then as soon under load (wheel off the groud -- Bike upside down) will fall to 45V and under. Battery has no BMS, took the SignalLabs BMS off after shorting 3 of cirect (sould be easily fixable though with 3 wires or soder). It has some puffy cells and has expanded greatly. And that good ol' "sweet smell" that comes when they fuff. I've took it apart with out de-sodering the cells to take a look at the puffy cells. Was thinking of deassembling it and testing individual cells even though I don't even have a single cell charger yet. Any help to fix it would be very much appreciated. I'd like to offer I'm willing to pay some local to fix it for me and put back on one of the BMS's. I'm also considering selling it with options of the 2 chargers for it and the 2 BMS's; a Signal Labs Ping BMS and eBay bought BMS (Picture soon). The chargers are the 2amp and 5amp editions. Please help make use of all these expensive parts so I can my ebike working again! I'm in Perth WA. Any one interested in purchasing the items or offers to fix are greatly appreciated and welcomed!

What size is the pack. I have a ping 48x30A pack that i run at 2c (60A) and have added/fixed several BMS that have failed due to getting rain on board. Have also rewired battery before too. I am in QLD and could fix it if you ship it to me

@Mad Huey- It's a 48V 15ah Ping Batt. Thank you very much for the offer to fix it. I'll consiter that. I know there is a special shipping procedure for Lithum Batteries (the ground and labeled as dangerous goods) and the thing is likely to heavy and expensive to shipped. And that fact that it's slightly damaged I don't know catagory that puts it in. But if I can't get anyone in Perth (Local) I'd defienly consiter working it out with the shipping company and working out a price with ya.

Hoping for this to be cheaper than sending it back to Ping in China.

I've tested the battery's bare sodered terminals at the top and there is definitely a broken cell group. So I'm sure the old broken ones would be needed to thrown away or repurposed and then replaced to the new pack.

Any Links of this procedure and/or ball park amounts how you might charge or how much I can expecting to pay to get this fixed. Thanks again Huey!

if it was me id be thinking test each group to find out if its just the end cells ect. Then if 8-12 cells are good in one group remove the rest and make a 24-36v pack. Then you only need a 12-24v pack again to buy. Ping will sell any combination of cells even 3v/15ah. Worst case split em into 12v packs to sell or repurpose.

If you damaged it and ping wont cover it you will just end up spending as much and get a battered battery back.

my ping was the hardest to balance and swapped the bms for daily balance charging with a hobby charger. 5 years later I still get over 20ah even after hitting 2v per cell on occasion

I have a very similar situation you described. Did you end up finding a solution? I think I have a bad cell in my 48v 20 Ah battery from Ping Battery. After walking me through some troubleshooting the battery was deemed defective. He sent me a new one. I have this original one here going to waste just because of one bad cell. I'd like to salvage it.
