ping is not a brand

Ping,doman...Sorry to mistake you as one person...Ping,sorry to use your name in my shop...After someone leave positive feedbacks for batteries in my account I will show them to you... :)

HI Cammy,

My name is Vince, and I ordered a 48v 20AH LiFe battery per your generous, 2nd chance offer, after losing the bid, 2 days ago.

My application is for this motor, with the 4825 ( 25Amp / 30 amp max) controller:

I mistakingly told dogman I ordered the Phoenix. WIshful thinking.

I look forward to receiving the battery, and hopefully adding to your positive ebay score's.

Please expedite the order as soon as its ready and tested.
As a new Ebiker, I have a ton of 'off this topic' questions, I will post seperately.

Best,
-Vince / Vaporthug

That should be a good combo of motor controller and battery. Very similar to mine in amps draw, and I never had a cutoff that wasn't from riding too far, like over 20 miles uphill. Cammy's first test will be if she sends hookup instructions. A lot of new battery owners are pretty confused by three wires when other vendors send no instructions at all. Pings instructions were very good, so I didn't freak out on the chargers behaviour at first. For awhile the charger will cycle on and off, balancing the pack during the first week or so of break in.

Did you find out from Cammy what kind of cells inside? If they are similar to the version 1 cells Li Ping sold last spring, it will still be a very good battery. The new 4ah cells are supposed to have a better c rate, but when tested at 1c, went a lot more cycles than the cells in my pack. This is where I get the idea that for now, 1c discharge rate is still the discharge rate to aim for. At the rate I discharge, similar to what you will do, I'm expecting at least 30,000 miles out of my battery. When I calculate what the bike costs me per mile, the battery is the cheapest item. I'm guessing I'll fry a motor or controller at least annually, and wallmart bikes can't have more than 2 or 3 thousand miles in em.

Looking again at the specs for the battery you bought, the weight is not right for the v1.0 battery I have, but is right for the v2.0 cells. If you have the new cells, they will be 4ah packets so it will be wired 5 packs per cell, not 4 packs per cell like my 1.0 So if you see 4ah packets, that at least means you bought fresh cells. They are unlikely to be from Pings source, but are more likely to have improved c rate, and at least can't be old recycled cells. There is surely going to be more and more good battery supply out there in the future, but right now, it has to be tempting to sell a lower priced pack at a premium price for the summer. When you get the battery, it is not a big deal to untape the top of the battery, remove a cardboard cover and peek inside once you are satisfied you are keeping the battery.

what does weather have to do with shipping?

Maybe her electric bike doesn't like running in the rain?

Not that I know anything about China BUT... I suspect there are some differences between China and the US. (I.E., not everyone has a weather-proof car or other weather-proof transport(Actually, I know this is true), the nearest "post office" isn't just down the road, etc.).

Anyways, thanks Ping for the history! It's fascinating to see how China is evolving.

Sure. Dogman is Ping, and Osama Binladen is also Barak Obama. Notice you never see Osama and Obama on TV at the same time?

Ping isn't a registered brand of battery cells, in that you are correct. But Ping is a Brand in that those who buy battery systems from him have honnored him by refering to them by his name. We used to refer to them as duct tape batteries, A semi-derogitory name. But as Mr Ping has earned respect of his customers and potential customers, people have begun refering to his battery systems by his last name out of some measure of respect.

Mr Ping's batteries are what they are; a fair cell, of consistant quality. He has earned our respect not through some amazing battery hype, but by his honesty, integrity, and customer service. He stands behind what he sells, and he is upfront and honest about what his batteries can do.
