Have to go a new battery pack for my eZee eBike from ebikes.ca. The hub motor details:
I need a 10AH battery, which seems to get me where I need to go comfortably within the 80% limit, and without adding more weight beyond the 10AH batteries. So my question is basically is it OK to go for the Ping 10AH battery here over the Headway 10AH battery here? (i.e. gives a cheaper and slightly smaller battery). I kind recall you had to be careful regarding discharge current and the size of the battery in relation to this, but I really can't remember now, hence this double check question here.

Option 1 - Ping http://www.pingbattery.com/servlet/the-8/lifepo4-lithium-phosphate-iron/Detail
Option 2- Headway http://stores.headway-headquarters....ttery-pack,/Detail.bok?category=BATTERY+PACKS

You want to lower the discharge rate of the ping cells to make them last longer, and though 80% discharges would be light enough, it won't hurt to increase the size, and do even lighter discharges.

But if you have a problem carrying the extra size, you can make the 10 ah ping work, but it will be discharging at 2c as you leave a stop sign. if your controller was 15 amp, it would be fine. I just don't recomend the 10 ah size for 20 amps. You have a 20 amp controller. I always wonder why they call it a 400w, when 36 x 20 is 720 watts.

Headways have a higher c rate, so they'd be fine for your motor in 10 ah.

Personally, I'd rather have a 10 ah A123 battery than headways, so I'd go to http://www.emissions-free.com/

But also, I can never have too much range, so I'd still go with 15 ah from ping. It's not that big and heavy.

First an A123 pack from cellman, then a Ping the headways is heavy and glad they are calling it a 3c, as they wheree calling it a 6c.

This is what I intended to link to:

Sorry.

I thinkthis is the samecarrier, but with the battery included.

Anyway, I boought four of these from another company and they have been great. No rust at all, in fact they seem to be heavy duty powder coat. The only issues I've had is one of them camewith a bad cell. Which admittedly is a pretty bad problem, and I bought them on close out so no returns, but I was still able to fix it an as biga pain as it was, I bet it was still easierthan pouch repair in a Ping battery. I broke a tab on a battery after hard street riding for 2500 miles. This was a $10 repair at the local battery shop. Andthen I've had a couple of BMS isues. I don't know if these packs from bmsbattery have the same old Headway BMS in it or not and if they do, I'd plan on just yanking it out and putting in a Ping, but after that, you've got a solid, secure, durable battery.

I know the LiPo fanbois dog on Headways, but if you're looking for a good commuter battery, this one is hard to beat IMHO.
