Hi Guys! My first post here.

I’ve decided to build my first electric bike.
The frame as seen in the picture is from a pit bike (crf50?) type.

I’ve bought a 3kw Vevor kit with a 45A controller. I will be using my 60V20aH battery to start off with and invest in a better battery later on.

Have any one of you built on this frame and maybe have some input?
Tips for mounting the motor?
How do I best fit the battery?
What speed can I expect with this setup? My goal is to just have a fun bike to cruise around the neighborhood at like 30mph.

Thank you!

I really hope that it wasn't all spray-painted white, including the chain and the suspension components... that would be the second bike this week 🫠

One thing that comes to mind looking at this frame is that almost certainly the old engine was used as a stressed member here. This means you can't simply hang the new electric motor from it, you need structural support (sort of a bottom cradle) that will reinforce the bottom of the frame in lieu of the engine casting.

30mph is realistic from 45A @ 60V, just make sure you calculate the drivetrain gear reductions appropriately.
