Dude is selling it for 75 bucks but he is like 70 minutes away and I would need a truck so I dont want to waste my time

Here is the https://imgur.com/a/5FN8iou album

The guy called it a hartman ox but I think the sticker says harman
Its yellow and the actual scooter pics are the last two at the bottom. Thanks

Searched Harman Super E Bike, nothing came up. Probably dozens of different names for one bike, Jonway, etc., the headlight sure looks typical.

There are four of what looks like 12v SLA batteries. There's a hub motor. Damn, a drum brake hanging off the side? So typical for such a bike to be 500w. Let me take a guess at 10 inch wheels.

My thought is it looks like it would be a nice bike to try swapping out the controller for something bigger, maybe just swap out the hub right off the bat for 1500w. Or bigger, but don't go too fast on the little thing. The batteries are bound to be shot, even if they make the motor work while you're looking at it.

The point I'll make is I think that if you only want to replace the batteries and be happy, you won't be. But if you want to upgrade, that might be a nice foundation. Not half bad for going fairly fast. I scratch my head on the rear brake situation though. $75 is something I'd like to find. I don't like going close to 100 miles either.

AFAIK, wIth the exception of the Shimano Rollerbrake (often mistaken for a disc brake because of the heatsink), drum brakes don't hang off the side, they are built into the hub itself.

If you have a brake hanging off the side, it's probably a band brake (which is better than a spoon brake, at least).

I can't see the images to tell what's actually on there though.

In this case, it sure looks like an internal expanding drum brake built into a special motor sidecover. Its a new one to me.

Yeah, I think if I went and looked the burnt up scooter I've never fixed has that side drum brake, but I haven't actually taken it apart and can't say it's really on the side or if Amberwolf's idea of built in still applies. I wonder if the swingarm is too side for all that, I think there's a big lump on the other side of the hub, too.
