POLYMER VS MANGANESE BATTERIES

Hi , I have a question regarding batteries and this forum is the best for detailed info . would a lithium manganese oxide bottle type battery be a better option than a polymer lithium ? Ive got a 200w motor and it came with a rated 36v bottle type lipo battery ,,,, also can it operate on a 48v battery . the motor is a 3 geared brushless

Just to confuse you even more, LiMnO4 is also a Lithium Polymer battery. Any of the pouch cells are Lithium polymer.

Usually when we say Lipo around here, we're referring to Lithium Cobalt, LiCoO2, because that's what most of the consumer grade RC lithium polymer cells are. But there are dozens of chemistries that can use a polymer. LiMnO4 is one of them.

LiMnO4 are safer than LiCoO2, but heavier, and LiMnCo batteries are a good mix of two's best attributes. But now that we have NCM and NAC cells, which are better than LiMn and LiCo, the old cells may fade away.
 
my impression is that the these store bot MnO2 cells are very short lived. we see a lot of people with trouble after they age just a short period of time. go outa balance and never go back.

The limn04 (manganese) is a very safe and long lasting formulation but not high power. The lipo formulation requires more care to prevent issues and has a shorter lifespan but is higher power. Your motor is low power so a manganese formulation is more appropriate.

Hi warren , is not having "high power" mean ,, it will run down quicker , require a recharge earlier than a polymer , or the manganese battery will not push the motor as hard ?

Hi drunkskunk , Interesting ,,, so the LiMnO4 & LiCoO2 are outdated by NCM & NAC ,,,,? Would I benefit by going with NCM or NAC rather than LiMn & LiCo or would results be neither here or there ?

Hi dnmun , and tks for reply ,,,. Are these MnO2 cells what make up in the LiMnO4 & LiCoO2 batteries ? Ive had the LiCoO2 battery for 2 years ,,,have noticed its charge diminished to 85% ,, is that what you mean by short lived ?
