So I got 2x ZIPPY Flightmax 4000mAh 4S1P 45C running in series on an eMTB with 2 Tacon BigFoot 160s (245k)

So how much runtime, say on flat roads can I expect with 8000mAh? Am I going to need another pack in parallel? 8000mAh is the same as saying 8Ah right?

In series you're looking at 8s and 4000mah. I have a board running those batteries in series and I squeeze 5 miles (maybe) out of that board. My board has a single G160 motor and urethane wheels though. Pneumatic wheels are going to suck up some of that mileage.

Yeah, it is 8S total, double 200amp Turnigy Trackstars, maybe, 15-18mph average

So it doesn't double the Ah having 2x 4Ah? Or are you dividing it by the 2 motors?

Anyway, if I can expect anywhere near 4-5 miles that would be fine.

As of now, I have no low voltage cutoff or sensor or monitor, is that necessary? Thanks guys.

If you ran the batteries in parallel it would double the ah, but you would only have 14.8 volts. (4s) to work with. Do your ESC's have a low voltage cutoff setting? I set my esc's to 3.4v.

Oh, that's true, the ESCs do have voltage cutoff--I forgot.

So 4aH@45C will give me about 4-4.5 miles then I guess

In the end of the day you have 131wh total of battery, and you will use it better at 8s 4ah than 4S 8ah because of voltage efficiency and current drag.

May I suggest that you add another pack to reach 10s and counter the power upgrade by downsizing the maximum Amperage of your system ? Like this you will get more range, more torque, for no additional strain on the system. All at the cost of one more pack, seems reasonable ?

Just determine the maximum power you can pull right now and then you do the maths as follow : V x A = Watts

Your goal is to keep the same Watts, not raise it.
