Hello,

I found this new power supply from Meanwell:
185W version at 1.15kg:
http://uk.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Mean-Well/HEP-185-54A/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtz8P%2feuiupSY1d2oqPaZ7ttZxI8SWN%2fbU%3d

600W version at 4kg:

They advertise it as a "designed for use in harsh environments. Housed in an aluminum case filled with heat conducting silicone, these series can withstand and perform reliably in applications subjected to high temperature, high humidity, dust, and vibration."

Great for ebike with lots of vibration, rain and more!

Bad point is the 4kg weight of the 600W model, but it is hopefully decently compact at 280*144*48.5mm.

Anything better on the market? Or this is the one?

Cycle Satiator from Grin Tech (ebikes.ca)

That's weird. They used to be named as 'HLG' series. When did Meanwell change the naming convention?

They are the waterproof chargers that Troy Rank (aka grindz145) had attached to his bike for his world record 4500+ mile trip last year. I remember him saying after, that if he could have had 1500W of Meanwells instead of 600W Meanwells + 900W air breathing alloy charger, he would have. I think "stars of the show" was the phrase he used.

Mind you, if he were able at the time to get his hands on some 72v Cycle Satiators, he might have used those instead.

Satiator only power up to 360W, is 300usd, 237 x 78 x 48 mm and 60v max:

For half the price, I can get the same meanwell range at 320w, 252*90*43.8mm and 58v max:

so meanwell is slightly bigger, heavier but same output power and half the price. Without all the functions I know but i don't really need them

Well, I can't comment on their resilience to vibration or the elements, but I've been using two 240W Meanwell HLG's paralleled together for a little over a year and have nothing but good things to say about their silent operation. Saying that though, I got a banging deal for them - £60 for the pair, but I'm not sure I'd have been prepared to pay full price.
