Predeco Outlaw SS

Write here and show us pictures once you reach 10,000 miles on this ebike as I documented with my ebike

But I seriously doubt
Battery and motor on the back- law physics you cannot cheat

I have 3000 miles on my Prodeco Phantom X in 15 months since ownership. No issues with battery or motor as of yet. Brake Pad adjustment is a pain in the ass but no other issues.

I actually live like 40 mins from their main "manufacturing" facility. They have SEVERAL dealers in the area which I don't trust at all.

I called once the main prodeco number and asked to talk to a manager or owner so that I could do a full review of the bike. I got to speak with someone from higher management that said and I quote;

We can give you a 5% discount on the bike but you can't test ride it here, it will be shipped directly to you. I was like wtf I can pick it up what's the deal.

I don't even know why it crossed my mind but the outlaw SS made me feel tempted. After reading and reading I can't justify spending that momey for what I get. Plus the communication and treatment seems fishy like other people have said.

All the DIY purist need to CHILL. towards the Prodeco guys. You guys are really harsh about these production, turn key reviews. Isn't the title of this thread, "Ebike reviews and testing"? I get that you don't want company self promotion. If not, why not allow a promo so long as they discalim their relationship? The forum is about ebikes, not hobbies. Just a suggestion.

I also read a post about the new Easy Motion bikes, a City model and a Cross model. They guy was gushing all over the place and I saw not one criticism. I think people are marvelling about the Stealth integration of the Neo series, it's weight, etc, and don't mind the emotional touch that is common with new riders. However, the Prodeco products seems to be under higher scruitiny. Just my personnal observation while reading this week.

That 2 yr warranty Prodeco offers is generous to customers but their bottom line probably take a big hit. What do they do with faulty batteries? Ship them back to China?

The criticism was justified in most cases..
I believe it helped Prodeco's company improve, truth be told
They have models with better components now, deliver their bikes to dealers more often on time & answer phone calls through customer service better from what I hear .
My ownership of a Storm lasted 1 month & I sold it @ a loss, bad experience without getting into the details but that was an entry level bike for them, i needed better quality for my demands personally & better durability for the amount of miles i ride a year.
Oh & the " Made in America " thing didnt help, more like assembled in America.
Thats what's special about this forum, the people are sticklers for some things & have passion when it comes to E-bikes manufactures & their claims.

And my suggestion would be to get involved with the forum, so you know the history before you start directing the actions of those of us who have contributed knowledge. ALL advertising is banned from ES as part of the contract with Trevor, when Justin bought the forum to rescue us from commercial interests. A promo would be a violation of that contract, even with a disclaimer acknowledging their relationship.

The issue with Prodeco has nothing to do with DIY vs factory bikes, it has to do with SPAM. Prodeco's shills spammed many bogus reviews here, obviously written be the same person, and wore out their welcome. That is why folks here hate Prodeco, and are indifferent to other factory bikes.

One would expect that if the Prodeco bikes had any quality they would not need to resort to such clownish marketing.

I have a few factory bikes in my stable, and I think it is great that factory bikes make ebiking accessible to folks who don't have the tech to DIY, so I am always looking for something new to recommend. I will never recommend Prodeco after all their spam, the shoddy hardware problems I have seen documented, not to mention how woefully underpowered their bikes are.

Their prices are good, and components are pretty standard. The 2 year warranty they promise is what's going to sink them. Think about all the parts on an ebike that can go wrong. Who covers the cost of battery replacement when a customer forgets to charge it over the winter and it sat in the cold garage and is now dead? I see that as a major problem I don't think they planned for.

How well a manufacturer manages their business is relevant to people who own their e-bikes because they are relying on them for future support (warranty and otherwise). Obviously the single most expensive component on an e-bike is normally the battery. Prodeco's 2 year warranty for this could hurt margins. This could chill sales as potential buyers come to the same conclusion.
