Hi.

BMSBattery Q85 and others geared motors freewheel in one direction meaning I can't get regen from then, which I would like. Also I would like to try build an electric unicycle from it. Is there anyway to remove the freewheel?? if so, can you please point me to some link with information about it?? Thank you.

If you need rotation in both directions, you have to weld the clutch inner to the outer.

It's sort of easy:
Open the motor.
Remove the three screws from the clutch and take it off.
Remove the three screws that hold the clutch retaining plate.
take the clutch out, flip it and put it back in. It's a bit fiddly to get the rollers back in, but you'll soon figure out how to do it.
Reassemble

Now comes the dodgy bit. You have to get the controller to send it backwards. If you're lucky, you can change the two phase and two hall wires to do it, but I've a feeling that the halls are not symmetrical regarding direction, which gives strange results, like turbine speed. different controllers give different results. A sensorless one might be better, but with something like a KT controller, you need to experiment with the P1 parameter to get it smooth. Maybe a controller with a reverse switch would work better.

If you need rotation in both directions, you have to weld the clutch inner to the outer.
THANKS!!

Will try that, of weld the clutch inner to the outer.

Don't worry about running it in both directions, I already have it on my OpenSource firmware ;)
