Questions on Gen II Prius conversion

Correct me if I'm wrong please.

PICC (http://www.pluginconversions.com/index.html) is the only company that replaces the stock battery with a larger NiMH battery. Is there another company that replaces the stock battery with a Lithium battery?

All other companies keep the stock NiMh and add a secondary higher voltage lithium battery in "parallel". Not true parallel because the secondary battery has higher voltage and is used to charge the stock battery. Why can't it be a true parallel setup? I think it has to do with the Prius conservative charging and discharging to prolong the NiMh battery, correct?

Yes I have. They parallel an external battery to the existing NiMh pack.
