My bike I built from scratch 5 years ago. Stealth type frame. Sabvoton 96120 controller, QS273 motor, 22s5p battery pack of 26650 cells, CA3 for control and display.
After 5 years of trouble free cycling, 2 years everyday to work and 3 retired, so shopping/pleasure riding.
Started to get random cut outs. Sometimes in PAS and sometimes on throttle. Every so often power would come back within a few seconds to a minute or so. During this time I was manually pedaling. At first I thought it maybe because I was running the battery pack too low and maybe one cell was going below cutoff voltage and tripping the BMS. So, after a full charge, the problem was still there, so not a battery fault.
I tried to monitor it on the CA3, but that showed no fault when the fault occurred.
Then I noticed the problem on the home screen. The brake was showing as activated. On further investigation I found the front brake was worn down about 50% (4 pot Shimano hyd caliper) and this had slightly reduced the tension on the brake lever. So, some bumps while cycling would shake the brake lever just enough to release the cutoff switch. Some small adjustment to the brake lever and everything fixed.
I have posted this as maybe this fault maybe be of use to help someone suffering the same thing.
