Hello all... Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, new here, found on google.
My daughter got this scooter for xmas in 2014 and it has been great so far until maybe two months ago. It wouldn't hold a charge and she could only ride 5-10 minutes on a charge. I thought it was time to replace batteries and that's what I did. I got these to replace ( http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Razor-Pocket-Electric-Scooter/dp/B00KAVH1GU )"12V 9AH Replacement for Razor Pocket Mod Electric Scooter - 2 Pack - Mighty Max Battery" thinking maybe I would get a tad more juice. They work but she still only gets about 10 mins ride time.

Is there something else I need to replace? throttle/controller?
The manual says change fuse, check tires and make sure weight limit isn't breached(definitely not). I didn't replace fuse as it is not blown and I thought I only need to replace that if it's blown?
I would appreciate any and all information, Thanks!

Oh, the Razor Pocket Mod definitely belongs in the motorcycle section.

My first thought is you charged the old and the new batteries with the same charger and the same thing happened. Oops. Test the charger to see if it puts out over 14 volts, test the batteries, old and new, what they charge to. Do the new ones charge higher than the old? The old batteries were 10a, right? The new only 9a, which if they're also less than ideal condition when you got them means you start out short of where it was new. Just a thought on that.

As she gets bigger think of putting 36v, maybe stepping up to a bigger controller, to keep it relevant to her.

Mods, please move this thread if needed.

How would I test the charger and batteries? I have a cheapo multimeter but never used it and not completely sure that's what I would need. The old batteries were 7ah, new ones are 9ah.
If I were to upgrade to 36v, what all would I need for that? Thanks again for info.

I bought a new charger from amazon, while the LED looks a bit different, the DC output is the exact same as one that came with the scooter.
I read a bit about how to test charger + batteries and from what I understand the batteries are fine. Back to square one. =/
Maybe I need to upgrade to 36V, but wouldn't I need to find the cause of my problem beforehand?

Seriously, this is the perfect place for this thread. Even if it wasn't, I tinker with pocket mods myself and like thinking of them that way. There are ways of putting bigger wheels on, all mine so far have such a long neck I haven't been able to get a different fork on, but I have ideas for modifying the original.

As for what the battery problem is, it's hard to even discuss. I can go on about check all the connections, etc., but the real test is to see some batteries work just fine elsewhere then act up in the one application. As I think about it for a 250w motor, 24v/9a isn't doing all that bad at 10-12 minutes. Are you sure the 7a was really going so far new? If you're somehow not getting a full charge. . . .

As for overclocking to 36v the first problem is you already bought this other battery and charger. Is it 2 12v cells? If you can get an identical third cell new, it's doable, but you also need a 36v charger. Your daughter might not be big enough yet anyway, I can't say. But the first thing is to try it with swapping any parts, sometimes it'll work just fine and you have a bit faster of a scooter. If not, you can try a 36v controller from the Razor dirtbikes.http://shop.razor.com/E-Kit-W13114501164/ I keep meaning to try this out myself (I have several of each) but I never get to it. If you find the dirtbike under $100 near you then you can swap the controller over and get yourself a 48v for the dirtbike http://www.ebay.com/itm/24V-36V-48V-60V-500W-to-1000W-Motor-Brush-Controller-for-E-Bike-Bicycle-Scooter-/111315906393 and go ride with her. (And on your own, too.) Any you put the dirtbike batteries in the pocket mod and get a second set of the replacement to put it all in the dirtbike.

The problem that's the toughest is making room for additional cells as this stuff has a tight fit. But i find the Razor's fun because they're substantial for so small and cheap. Some people go hog wild with the Pocket Mod at http://forum.modifiedelectricscooters.com/viewtopic.php?t=1587 They get some play here, too. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=59449
