Hello everyone,
I bought a new Chinese li ion battery charger from a local supplier. It is a 54.6v 2A with metal housing, fan and good overall build quality. I used it once already and didn't have any problems.
Today i was reading the forum and decided to lower my output voltage which was 54.77V, to around 53.56V so i can prolong the battery life of my pack (13s5p).
I took it apart carefully and saw 3 variable pots. I tried my luck and, of course i didn't guess the right one from the first time, neither the second..on my third and last option i was happy to see the voltage drop to my desired level. But there is a feeling inside me that by turning the other 2 pots i may have fcked up. I tried to take them back as close as i could from a picture i took.
When short circuited the charger delivers 1.7amps, which i regulated to 2.5A.
I haven't played the other pot because i think it may be the voltage cuttoff one which i have no way of testing if it is working ok.

My question: is it a problem that i increased the CC to 2.5Amps and is there any chance ill have problems with the cuttoff pot which i turned a bit but returned it to the starting position?

It can probably handle 2.5A but I would check the case temp after 10-20 minutes of charging.
About the third pot, you can check by charging the battery until the charger cuts out and then measuring the voltage difference from battery to charger. A bigger difference will mean that you changed it to a higher value.

Wow thank you so much, i couldn't have asked for a better guide :D
Have a nice day!

long as it stays cool, warm but not real hot, 2.5 amps should be ok.

I'd be inclined to trim it back down to 2 amps myself, because of the hot climate I live in.

Photographing the pots first was the right procedure. I usually just diddle and put back exactly where I found them, if not the voltage pot. Usually that v pot is the last one in a corner, right by the dc output wire exiting the board.
